Is it possible to search the forums for key words?

Here’s why I’m asking. The other day, I was reading a thread on a topic with a keyword in it, “X__.” Much later on I had one of those “in the shower” inspirations and wanted to contribute to the “X__” thread. Naturally, more time had to pass before I could get back to the computer and log on.

The bad news is, I couldn’t remember which forum the thread was in! Lazy as I am, I’d rather search all the forums for “X__” than reread them all in hopes of finding the one.

The search box is directly above the list of forums on the right. I think it could be made bigger and more obvious, but it does search ONLY THE FORUMS for the term you are looking for, and will display list of topics and replies in the results. This way you CAN search for say, “barbarossa”….. and see all replies with the term “barbarossa” in the body.

/forums/search/barbarossa/

…… will bring up ONLY the forum results for that as an example.

Thanks for asking this. The SITE SEARCH at the top of site (upper right) does NOT include forum discussions yet (at this time). The site search only includes videos, articles, audios, and our front end archives. Think of the forum as a different subset. When it really takes off, we will merge forum search results eventually.

My pleasure. Not at all, I found it difficult to spot myself. We shall restyle it to make it more prominent. Thanks for the suggestion. Its on the list of todos.

Not search related. But I can’t log into the forum via my android device. (Galaxy note2). I enter the info and it goes back a page instead of letting me in to the forum.  Browser issue on my end maybe?

When you log in, every user is redirected to their PROFILE page. It’s done that way on purpose so if we have any messages or important announcements, we can tell you RIGHT THERE before you proceed anywhere.

From there you can use the menu at the top to go wherever you want. But since you just brought this to my attention, I have inserted 3 “jump” buttons to take you directly from there to either the FORUMS, ARCHIVE or HOMEPAGE for your convenience.

Please logout and login again to try it out, and let me know if this works for you.
