I loved Blade Runner and would not see the remake for fear of tainting my member berries of the first one.

I felt the same but I read a little about it and it is an extension of the story, not a remake. It was worth seeing, once, but certainly not world ending if you miss it entirely. The original movie stands alone very well.

    Beautiful post, Joe.

Nobody ever said the red pill was sweet. I have always hated the air in the mall – and the insane motion of all the people. Sensory overload, and none of the feelings good. Makes me think of this:

β€œThe mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things..”

    ― Henry David Thoreau

Big fan of Thoreau! I go to the mall once every week or two for a meal I like at this one place… I people watch, walk the entire mall after I eat just to study the beasts in their natural environment. This day was the first in a long time that I decided to see a movie as well. I am actually surprisingly functional around people, very social, but inside I have always been extremely observant. I, like you, don’t like big crowds, and stay away on the weekends.

I have been toying with the idea of writing a book, not sure what genre, but I got one in me, I can feel it. This post was the first I spent more than a few minutes on, it came out pretty good. It feels like writing is like carving a statue, you need to keep looking it over and scraping off and adding clay until it is how you like it. I only spent about a half hour on this, and I think I can do better solely depending on how much time I put into it.

For the guys, Joller and iMickey503, who said they get to have beers at the movies, well, I would likely be going more often than once a decade if that were the case!
