I think human nature is one of seeking acceptance for the most part (maybe a little more so for women than men), and societal conditioning in the modern era until recently has pushed marriage/cohabitation, so these thoughts/insights for everyone are common/normal to a degree.

I am a big time movie buff, mostly older stuff as much the newer stuff seems more controlled and narrow, you made me think about the 1984 movie with Steve Martin “The Lonely Guy”. I just watched it recently again, pretty funny and on topic for this thread.
