According to a friend, who lives abroad in Moscow (who also saw the news for himself), they banned internet porn because “it harms children and their development”.
He also said, that Russia is a very corrupt country and pokemon GO players are imprisoned for catching pokemon in churches.

Are Russians now ‘forced’ by the government to reproduce and marry women instead of jacking off to porn in all peace? The point is making people doing the extra effort in order to watch porn (which is banned in the first place) is stupid. Even kids can get around it and access porn online and a simple ban won’t stop them from watching it but paints the government in an even worse picture as it is.

I apparently am in the minority around here about pron being harmless. It is kind of like an alcoholic saying alcohol isn’t bad for anyone. In very specific circumstances it can be useful (to avoid hooking up with someone you may regret) but to anesthetize yourself each and every day is not good.
