The formula to writing a great Star Wars story is easy, just browse The Hero of a Thousand Faces. A young man comes from nothing, has grand dreams of traveling the galaxy, is mentored, he trains, he gets his ass kicked a few times, and eventually overcomes obstacles and saves the princess. This Mary Sue bulls~~~ of some random girl having full Jedi powers halfway through the first film was retarded. Disney is just another large corporation catering to the SJW zeitgeist, forgetting what made the franchise great in the first place.

Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I will never see the movie but that bird shown on the clip really doesn’t excite me. Is that what women want to be? Who would want one of those? No wonder so many men are turning queer these days.

A woman is like fire -fun to play with, can warm you through and cook your food, needs constant feeding, can burn you and consume all you own

Where to begin ? Yes…. Luke Skywalker did vote for Hillary. HOWEVER…. Han Solo proudly voted for Trump. What does it all mean you ask ? Is HOLLYWOOD trying to inject some “Social Justice” into our beloved franchise…. ? No doubt, the stiff emotional reaction in the comments confirms it. The MGTOW community largely effronted.
As for myself…. a humble long standing fan…. I think HOLLYWOOD itself is grappling with all this in a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” way.
Nobody cried “FOUL !” when Lando Callrissian was cast, or Samuel Jackson for that matter. But as the Left ratchets up it’s tyranny….
any casting decision outside of “traditional white” or “traditional male” is viewed with immediate suspicion.
But we shouldn’t throw out the baby with the bath water and get hysterical. THE AUDIENCE knows what a good movie is…. and wherein the intentions lay.
THE AUDIENCE will be the final judge.
I for one don’t want to spoil anything for all the young people who may actually enjoy these movies, or disparage all the hard work others have endured to provide us with entertainment, story, and perspective.
Yes these HOLLYWOOD types annoy me fawning over themselves with their stupid award shows etc…..
That aside, I watched the trailer and it looks like a pretty good movie over all. Iv’e even grown fond of the female Skywalker, admitted.
I don’t think Wesley Snipes was cast in “BLADE” because some SJW director said “Hey guys, we gotta cast a black guy in this role….”
I think he was cast because it made a great movie.
And I don’t think Angelina Jolie was cast in “TOMBRAIDER” because some Democrat said “Well, we need to cast a female lead even if it hurts the film”
And I don’t think Milla Jovovich was cast in all her movies as a “default we were ordered to cast a woman” either.

If we go TOO FAR as anti-SJW watch dogs…. eventually we’ll hurt people who don’t deserve it. And make it even harder for the entertainment industry to cast
(already walking on egg shells) as it is.
The most important thing we can do as an audience is ENCOURAGE THE FREE MARKET TO WORK. Let the films rise and fall on their own merit. CAPITALISM is the best formula for churning out a variety of movies, including great movies. Communist countries don’t have good movies because people there have no free speech or creative freedom.

Myself, i’ll give this movie a chance. It will of course never match the cast or genius of the originals….. but i’ll probably still like it.

the Last Jedi took a lot of misplaced criticism.

    1) Crapping on Luke’s character to make a Mary Sue appear better by comparison
    2) The entire pointless casino subplot with Finn
    3) The longest, dumbest, slow-moving starship chase
    4) Stupid “gotcha” plot twists “subverting expectations” LOL instead of ones that had REAL impact, e.g. “No, I am your father”.
    5) A romance that was even MORE pathetic and more poorly written than the Anakin-Padme romance (We don’t win by killing the people we hate, we win by saving the people we love – LOL – Trudeau? right after she crashes into Finn’s vehicle)

God, I could keep going, but I have to go to sleep.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

I for one don’t want to spoil anything for all the young people who may actually enjoy these movies, or disparage all the hard work others have endured to provide us with entertainment, story, and perspective.

But that’s the problem right there.

That’s not what they are doing. They are NOT trying to provide the audience with entertainment, story, or perspective.

They are pushing a false social agenda.

They don’t see Star Wars as an opportunity to tell a story. They merely see it as a tool to promote that false agenda. That’s why the new Star Wars stories (if you can even call them that) suck so badly. That’s why the protagonist Rey comes off as such a Mary Sue.

But here’s the thing about that: she’s not actually a Mary Sue. Like all such “protagonists” used to promote a false agenda, she’s actually something far worse.

She’s a fucking cartoon mascot created to sell a product to the gullible.

As such, there is no functional difference between Carl Manvers or Rey or Ronald McDonald or the Marlboro Man. That’s why they are so two dimensional (if even that). That’s why they lack any form of character development. Advertising mascots don’t need character development. Their creators don’t want them to develop. They don’t want them to have trials, losses, flaws, or ordeals. They want them to appear as prepackaged paragons to promote the product they are created to sell. That’s why they appear to be Mary Sues; to sell product they have to be the prettiest or the most powerful or the extra bestest or whatever.

Do you think Ronald McDonald could ever go on a hero’s journey?

And like Ronald McDonald and the Marlboro Man, what Carl Manvers and Rey are trying to sell is cancer.

That aside, I watched the trailer and it looks like a pretty good movie over all. Iv’e even grown fond of the female Skywalker, admitted.

7 and 8 were extreme disappointments for me. So boring and hard to follow. Didn’t even make much sense. I haven’t even seen Solo or heard anything about it. Don’t know that I’ll watch this one.

I’ve lost interest in most all the s.h.i.t movies their pumping out these days. None of it looks like it’s worth watching.

The redeeming quality with Force Awakens was Han Solo. His lines and presense were the highlights. Without that, it would be as bad as the Last Jedi was.

I’d like to say I have some hope for this next one, but everything in the trailer looks like more crap. They have no idea why people like Star Wars to begin with. They seem to be they can use star wars to push an agenda and merchandise and people will just accept it because they are too stupid to realize they are being used.

I do think it will do well though as it has strong demographic support. There will be the nerdist leftist who will support it because it’s cool. Then there is the kids who love everything Star Wars and don’t realized they are being used. And then there are the absolute die hards who are unwilling to admit that it’s not the unicorn it once was.

    Ok. Then do it.

They have no idea why people like Star Wars to begin with.

    Spoiler: they don’t care.

They only know that people do like it (or did), and that they own it now so they can use it however they want, audience be damned.

I do think it will do well though as it has strong demographic support.

Does it? I don’t see that at all.

The reactions I’ve seen so far have all ranged from indifference to mockery, which are both far, far worse than even antipathy. The audience doesn’t hat Star Wars. The audience simply doesn’t care. The audience has left it and moved on.

There will be the nerdist leftist who will support it because it’s cool.

But Star Wars isn’t cool. Not any more. Jake Skywalker with a face of blue spooge is never cool.

Then there is the kids who love everything Star Wars and don’t realized they are being used.

Those kids are all 50 year old men now. The current generation doesn’t see what the big deal is about Star Wars at all. To them it’s just another space movie, and a boring stupid one at that. Just look at how it isn’t selling toys.

Star Wars toys have been the most common after-Christmas return items for years now. Kids don’t want them.

And then there are the absolute die hards who are unwilling to admit that it’s not the unicorn it once was.

The absolute die hards are the audience most angry about what Star Wars has become.

Again, I expect this film to “break even”, but I think it’s true figures will result in an overall loss for the Disney corporation as a whole. Thus far the Star Wars franchise has yet to turn a profit for Disney as a whole. What gains they’ve had here or there still haven’t covered the billions they’ve invested into the franchise.

You know your movie sucks when the Torrent client says, NO PEERS. And the only one that has a copy is an FBI server.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

I can pin my declining interest on one character, and that character was the beginning of the end of the “movie franchise” for me.
    Jar Jar Binks.
There is only so much that I can suspend belief in order to enjoy “entertainment”. Having a village idiot (universal moron) as a heroic central plot figure is not one of them and is wholly unrealistic or meritorious, unlike “Flowers for Algernon” or “Of Mice and Men”.
I have heard so much bulls~~~ about the dislike of that character because is is racist as the cartoon was “equated” to it being a black person. No, it is because the character is/was a complete and utter moron that couldn’t even be used as comic relief because it was so insulting to every type of life form.
Each successive and dare I say “progressive” chapter of this movie series adds in more and more wholly unbelievable, unlikable, and unsustainable characters, plots, sub plots, narratives, and an unhealthy amount of SJW bulls~~~.

I just can’t suspend belief enough anymore to “follow” the not so much underlying SJW narrative that is saturating media and entertainment to such an extent that I haven’t been to a movie theatre in almost a decade, nor has my T.V or radios been turned on very often in the last 5 years.

There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it

The disney wars movies are dog s~~~, yes the PT has issues but it was still SW and had the spirit of the SW brand, the disney wars movies only destroy the legacy of the OT and PT by making every returning OT hero a f~~~ing retard who only fails.

TLJ Jake Skywalker is a f~~~ing insult to any real SW fan, even Mark hates what happened speaking the truth when disney stops mailing him checks.

    3) The longest, dumbest, slow-moving starship chase

You mean the slow moving starship chase in which the starships I always thought had some futuristic crazy reactor s~~~ or something that powered them are actually apparently some sort of combustion engine that runs on fuel, and when they run out of fuel they coast to a stop in space?

I’d honestly have thought this part was ridiculously stupid even if there wasn’t a hundred other things that made this movie awful.

I have two sons, 13 and 10. I’ve asked them if the kids at school talk about or are excited about the new Star Wars movies. They tell me ‘no.’ As far as I can tell Disney has failed to really find an audience in what should be their key demographic for Star Wars. Oh well. I used to love Star Wars but after these Disney movies and the way those involved in the production along with the media have s~~~ all over fans I couldn’t give less of a s~~~ about Star Wars anymore.

The sad irony is the PT was still popular and talked about in schools, the big fight between Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan vs Maul, the jango vs Obi-Wan battle, the beginning of the clone wars on geonosis, and the eager anticipation of ROTS coming out a week before graduation. While not as good as the OT there was plenty of content in the PT that excited people and those of us in high school were strong supporters of the great battles the PT gave.

I don’t know anyone who talks about the ST without insulting it or mocking mary REY sue for being horny for kylo “bitch boy” ren, or how pathetic “Jake Skywalker” is in the new movies.
