Hope he follows his own advice and pulls through…

In July of 2018, this honey pot forum was sold out to an unidentified NPC sock puppet and troll organization. Most independent thinkers and writers migrated to other MGTOW forums as a result of the never-ending infighting and deliberate trouble starting caused by members who were given "carte blanche" by the admin to do whatever they want. Before my departure, I only left a few thousand cat pics here to comfort and ridicule the feminist owners who now run this place. Their background agenda is to make MGTOW look like a club of losers the public eye. And during the course of 2019, they actually managed to destroy almost all other MGTOW venues as well. Here is the truth about "theindependentman.org" aka "TIM" which was created as an extended workbench to further divide the community. I fell in love with his music the first time I heard it.

… Some time later in the early 80’s, thanks to AFN Radio…

Every album of his career is a must have. Including his “spin off” phase with “The Traveling Wilburys”

And I do have all (at least all official releases) on LP and CD.

This one was one of his first appearances in 1978, not so long ago.

Have any death reports been confirmed? Last I heard he was stabilized and off life support.

That’s the last I heard as well. I guess the new journalistic standard now is better to be first than right.

He’s off life support with a “do not resuscitate” order in place. Priest has already read him last rites.

He’s still alive. He’s a good guy who’s had a hard life. Hope he pulls through successfully and has not lost any oxygen to his brain.

Always loved Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, even when it wasn’t popular to, where I grew up. One of my recent favorites below. I hope he and Prince are jammin’ in guitar 🎸 heaven.

There’s been an edit war on wikipedia all day: “He’s dead.” “No, he’s alive.” “Definitely dead this time.” “Not on life support but still alive.” And so on. Last I checked they’re back to “alive”.

    We’re talking Schroedinger’s Tom Petty.

But someone must have opened the box because tompetty.com is now saying he’s dead, and pushing #riptompetty, so it’s probably official.

Petty’s manager confirmed his death late last night. Too bad– loved his music videos when I was a kid.

I’m gutted. Truly one of the greats. Gone way too soon! I play many of his tunes and will be rocking them hard in the days to come at my shows in Tribute!

Tom sounds like an ASPOWALT in this song and that’s fine with me as I am also an ASPOWALT. However, it is not what we should hope for unless one is a fool. Tom understood that and may he RIP. He was a great artist that few younger can halfway match.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Tom Petty.

Much of this man’s art resonated with the common man. He seemed to be able to reach out to the parts of our lives which weren’t so polarized.

Tom Petty was great at being “Grey”. He could write and express material about the situations in life which were somewhere between victory and failure; between triumph and loss.

Goodbye, Tom. Thanks for letting us know that it was okay to just live.

“It’s alright if you love me
    It’s alright if you don’t
I’m not afraid of you running away
Honey, I get the feeling you won’t”

There’s something bold about those lyrics. He’s not going to be played by his girlfriend.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Only stuff of his I ever really liked were the hits from the Full Moon Fever album, the rest of his catalog is mostly mediocre to me.

    RIP Tom Petty.
His song Free Falling, was one of the first music videos I ever saw. Fantastic artist; he will be missed.

My favorite Tom Petty memory is his role in the Postman:
