I read the Wikipedia article on her, and mostly feel sorry for her.
Her family sounds completely insane.
Her parents adopted four black siblings for her growing up, then moved to South Africa with the black siblings, but not her (she was older at the time) to work as missionaries.
There’s something odd going on here familial-ly, and I don’t really know what it is, but something is very, very wrong with her parents.
Her own life seems somewhat confused. Her child is biracial, she went to Howard University, and she’s spent her life in African-American studies. She claimed at one point that her actual biological father was black. Given how nuts her family is – and they’re the ones who outed her, wasn’t that nice of them – I can see her being told at various times of her life that she was or wasn’t part black or whatever.
In Judaism there’s a special prayer to protect people against informers. When you’ve been around as a culture for several thousand years, you understand that government is generally the bad guy. I can’t imagine living in as f~~~ed up a situation where one’s family outs one to the media and to law enforcement . . . for the capital crime of pretending to be black, or part black, or whatever.
If I had to guess, her family was p~~~ed off that she finally out-blacked them, was jealous about it, and stabbed her in the back over it.
As for not being able to get a job, actual unemployment is over 25%, and being mildly (in)famous certainly doesn’t help.
Her artwork, which is her specialty in African-American studies, seems reasonable enough and more competent than most.
Where are all the SJW BLM folks to help her?
Sums it up, doesn’t it? If one pretends to be Jewish, or Catholic, or whatever religion, usually they just quickly do a conversion, figuring, wow, if you cared enough to pretend . . . hey, awesome. I can’t imagine Welsh or Scottish or Polish groups going bats~~~ that someone chose to identify as any of those things, no matter how tenuous the connection.
Flip it around. Dirk McScotty has a hard-on for Polish culture for whatever reason. His mother at one point implied he was part Polish. He spends his entire life studying Polish art, lectures on the Holocaust and the partitions of Poland, marries a Polish girl and has a half-Polish child. Later in life it’s discovered that his family is f~~~ing crazy, that he’s not actually genetically Polish, and that he was either mistaken about this or living a delusion.
Would anyone give a s~~~? “Oh, you’re not Polish enough to talk about Polish art or Polish history.” Sorry, what the f~~~? There are lots of non-Jewish scholars of Jewish history. There are Russian scholars of Polish history. There are English scholars of Belgian history. There are Italian artists who work in French Impressionism. No one gives one s~~~. No, what’s being done to this girl is madness.
I mainly feel sorry for her. She picked a group that is largely politically insane to emulate and try to be part of – almost any other group in the world would simply have been flattered by this.
