I want to be very clear about this. This is a load of bollocks.

There are all sorts of magicians and con men out there. The work with slight of hand but also with knowing the loopholes of human psychology, the limits of attention and the consequences of trust. Jesus did a fair bit of this con trickery himself (unless you actually want to believe that he was the son of the one true god and his dying as a common criminal somehow saved everyone). Quite a lot of Jesus’ charismatic followers still do this sort of con trick healing. Check out Derren Brown (queer magician and self proclaimed “mind bender”) as he shows how it is all done. The amazing Randi (what is it about queers being good at debunking charlatans) also debunked every single con trick magician and psychic he ever came across as well as fooling academic parapsychology researchers that they had found real psychics.

Just don’t waste your mental energy on that s~~~ gents. There is stuff that is hard to explain -like I happen to be a very accurate rune caster and interpreter but this sort of showman s~~~ is just that -s~~~.

And Randi was a rich queer too!
For many years there existed the ‘James Randi Million Dollar Challenge’. All a person had to do to win it was to prove under controlled test conditions the existence of supernatural abilities or powers. The offer was open to any psychic, illusionist, faith healer or spiritualist but was it never claimed. It’s funny how these types of people are so f~~~ing quick to fleece gullible ‘believers’ out of their dough but couldn’t even get their mitts on a cool million bucks just sitting there waiting for someone to take it…

I don’t need an explanation, God told me they exist in his scriptures. I’m taking his word over yours.

Having personally experienced Sleep Paralysis and actually ‘seeing’ the demons for myself is why I don’t believe your biblical nonsense…

If ‘remote viewing’ worked, the major oil and gas companies, would hire gypsies, dowsers and psychics (paid for appropriately with hallucinogenic drugs and alcohol of course), instead of geologists and scientists, to locate oil and mineral reserves.

Since it doesn’t work, they rely on the more mundane technologies of seismic and other scans, as well as test wells.

“Bulls~~~” in all shapes and forms has always been around. Just because a government agency or entity affords it ‘legitimacy’ doesn’t make it any less bulls~~~!

In this case the bulls~~~, maybe tested with electrical equipment. The fact that the CIA invested a lot of time and money researching Psychotronics does give it some legitimacy in my view. However, I won’t believe it until I personally experience it under controlled conditions. If the engineering principles work then it is no longer a matter of belief for me.

We believe in ‘demons’ because for centuries man has experienced episodes of ‘Sleep Paralysis’. I’ve covered this countless times here on this forum. Please don’t make me have to explain this s~~~ to you all over again…

I’ve experienced these “demonic” episodes quite a bit. Autolite’s advice, sleeping on your side seems to work. I haven’t had an episode since.

    “Magicians prove…”

A special ed friend of mine was taken to see a world famous magician for his birthday. He came home disappointed because it was all a series of tricks. “What did you expect… real magic?” “…Yeah, I guess so.”

If what psychics did actually worked they’d be picking winning lottery numbers instead of talking to the dead. They’re always doing things the hard way I guess…

Lol dudes. I guess I stirred up some s~~~ on here….well although most likely it is all BS, I still wonder till this day as to why they would have a pentagram at a Physics place. And perform a ritual over it? Even if all the magic in the world is pure BS, why the f~~~ing pentagram?

Ok this has little to do with MGTOW subject, but I came on this and would like an explanation as to how and why? Obviously this is fake…right?

I believe a spiritual world exists, but not because of magicians and their tricks. I’ve been fascinated with “magic”, or rather “illusions” since I was a young kid. I was even able to come up with my own simple magic tricks that fooled adults just by hiding a coin up my sleeve and making it “magically appear”.

As has been mentioned in this thread, a lot of it is the presentation and learning how to get someone to see what you want them to see. I’ve seen some pretty amazing card tricks that seem absolutely impossible, but once I learned how they are done, the “magic” is gone. It’s not easy, but I’ve learned how to make cards appear out of thin air and it’s all just manipulation…..and a lot of dexterity in the hands and fingers……….and a lot of practice, as well as some good acting.

I’ve learned several card tricks, one of them being the old “pick a card and I’ll tell you what it is”. I’ve blown away many people with that one and even had one guy accuse me of being a “witch”. I learned from an old man at a bar. He showed me that trick over and over and I could never figure it out. It was, or seemed, just impossible. I finally badgered him so much that he told me how he did it and it was so easy, but it fools pretty much everyone and can be done with any regular deck of cards.

So no, there is no spiritual assistance in these magic tricks. They’re just tricks.

The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.

It’s all 100% sleight of hand and misdirection. Street magic is no different. It’s trickier, but the same concepts apply.

Chances are, if you are looking at something it is What you are supposed to see. Most street magicians have a cadre of paid skills that follow them to prime the audience.

It is all an act and if they aren’t paying you, they are duping you.

I think Autolite and Frank one nailed it with these comments. Uri Geller was bending bloody spoons when he could have been using his psychic powers to open bank vaults, diffuse bombs or to perform brain surgery without cuts. What a huge lack of ambition!

Having said that and just to give the other side there are a fair few farmers round my way who would hire a dowser for serious money in preference to a hydrologist if they wanted a new well. One day we cut down some big trees in a farmer’s field and we got chatting to him. He started telling us about dowsing and we all tried not to smirk. The farmer then proposed a demonstration. From his landrover he produced two bent metal rods and started walking across the field. At one point the rods crossed and he declared “there’s water there” and stuck a stick in the ground. “Now who’s next?” he said. “About 1 in 4 people can do it, so one of you lads should be able to”. Two of us volunteered. The first lad went off across the field and the rods gave a mighty twitch. “You have a real talent” said the farmer. He stuck a stick in the ground where the rods had twitched. When it was my turn to my amazement the rods did slowly turn in my hand. I certainly did not try to turn them because I was hoping to walk across the field and nothing happen. Again a stick was stuck in the ground. “Now said the farmer, I knew where the mater main crosses my land but you boys didn’t. Then he went and dug about in the long grass and revealed a man hole. He pointed to one in the pavement at the edge of the road. The three sticks stood in a straight line between them. I am not saying dowsing works or even if it does work that it is caused by any mysterious power but it was a mighty convincing demonstration. Maybe he just had a talent for cold reading people and feeding prompts? Maybe humans like to copy each other subconsciously? I bet Derren Brown could reproduce the experiment with cold reading. But whatever it is some people will pay serious money to dowsers.

People want to believe that there’s more to life than just our physical world. Thinking that there is a spiritual world implies ‘life after death’ and for many that’s a huge comfort. Its called “The Need To Believe” and it’s based on emotion, not rationality. ‘Emotion’ often overrides ‘rationality’ as that’s just human nature. It’s why religious belief and belief in the supernatural persist to this day.

There’s lots of available information online that explains why this is the way it is. If you seriously want answers all that you need to do is just look. The best place to start is that skeptics forum that I linked you to on a previous post. You’ll find there all the answers to the questions that you keep asking here…

Yeah, water dowsing appears to work because anywhere you go (where people already live) chances are very good that you’ll find water under you. However, under proper test conditions, dowsing has been proven to be no better than pure chance. Any dowser who could prove different would have been a million dollars richer…

    Ideomotor Effect.

Note that apart from the use of dowsing rods, it also explains why Ouija boards seem to ‘work’…

That being said, if you want to research the spirit world, another area you might want to research would be reincarnation. Look up the research of Ian Stevenson, Jim Tucker (one of Ian’s students), and their research teams, on reincarnation.
Their work is interesting and done purely by field research without hypnosis or other such actions. Instead, they interviews small children whom claimed to have lived previously lives, with the researchers trying to find records of these lives, with mix, but usually very interesting results. Their research involves thousands and thousand of cares over a number of decades.

Yes. For those with an open mind, the result is definitive.

Quite a few water companies employ dowsers, although they don’t talk about it. Many police forces consult psychics, but again, would rather not admit it.

I watched 2 hours of that last night. I’m not impressed.

    1. The narrator is a fanatical Christian so his presentation is 100% bias and meant for you to come to his conclusion.

    2. There is no supernatural realm. Demons are NOT real. There are no parallel dimensions. This is 100% bologna.

As for the tricks… we’ve seen many which are elementary and replicated often… As for the more impressive ones like levitation and whatever… these are not beyond the bounds of Science. Nothing presented in that video is beyond say, 22nd or 23rd century science.

Mind you, history has shown us many instances of modernity clashing with pre-industrial peoples where simple items and behaviors appear to be pure magic or god-like to simpletons. You don’t even have to time travel, take an iPad and some Tylenol to some island in the Philippines, you will worshiped. We have $800 drones for sale today (that can be bought over the counter) that can fly thousands of feet high, shoot in 4K and whizz past you going 40mph…seems like Star Trek or even ‘magic’ to primitives.

I dont know how these guys are doing it today (probably simple tricks and perception) but anything else… they could have access to some technology yet un-invented by humans. Not saying, just saying…

I can tell you one thing. The whole demons and spiritual realm excuse is BULLS~~~!
