“The plate has a sleek and modern look that reminds one of a tablet, and recalls updated vehicle registration information, Amber Alerts, a system used to activate urgent bulletins in the serious child-abduction cases.

    A few additional benefits:

    • A phasing out of the impractical sticker system, due to the registration system that instantly updates.

    • As plates only function on the vehicle for which they were meant to be used, there would be a significant reduction in theft and fraud.

    • Plates can be customized more easily.

    • A host of public service messages can be used.

    • The plates would contain parking status information, with possible use of this technology with related smart parking apps—this could mean the end of the ominous and dreaded parking meters!

    • A steady stream of funding support which would come from advertisers—the license plates in current use are completely State funded.

    • Wireless connectivity”

———-One more layer of getting tracked by the all seeing eye of the state. Stupid Stupid Stupid. ,….and some people are going to go oh cool with out even thinking.

Ok, I really hate a lot of this new technology. I can’t stand that every damned thing is , or will soon be, hooked up to computers. I really despise the fact that these things display ads. Seriously, this is a sick society.

Britain has ANPR. Knows f~~~ing everything.
Every major road you drive on.
Your entire driving history, vehicles you have access to, alerts for any crimes they THINK you are involved in.

Impossible to get around. Unless you clone cars.
    Which organised crime gangs do.

Hackable and govt surveillance tracking friendly.

    No thanky.

Could have your insurance and registration info on it too, so all a person would need to carry is their license. Of course we’re getting tracked anyway, and that was always just bulls~~~, so state troopers would need some new excuses to pull people over and demand information that people might not carry but have in order.

This is the closest thing to putting a chip in your head.
Most people can’t work if they can’t drive. By agreeing to drive you also agree to be tracked. What s~~~ty way to force you to willfully relinquish your privacy rights.
Up till now no tracking device linked directly to a government agency without a warrant to get a it.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the number 666 is on this plate? And, no I do NOT think this is the mark of the beast; but ironic nonetheless.

And it all can be jammed and easily disrupted.

What is the GPS tracking of a car worth if you put aluminum foil over the antenna?

Or put your “mobile phone bugging device and tracking box” aka smartphone into a shielded metal box.

Smart governments with even more smart “mommy 2.0” executives can’t outsmart the law of physics.

And they can’t outsmart “electronics guys” like us.

If this device hits Germany, I just learn how to hack this thing and drive 10 cars for the tax payment of one.

I guess the prices for old cars are now going up. My car is still not trackable.

And if it was… When pulled over: “Oh my God, the on-board computer suddenly broke yesterday and I don’t have money/time to fix it…
    Ohhh… I am so sorry.”…

Then put the loose plug back in and go to the inspection.

Navigation systems are the worst tracking devices people voluntarily carry with them…

My Garmin Nüvi(s) 660/670 from 2007 get me everywhere with 3 m accuracy and do NOT record a GPS track. BTW, this is the last Garmin that does not record your path. All later models silently store a .GPX file for the cops to confiscate and see where you’ve been.

    I am still stealth.

In July of 2018, this honey pot forum was sold out to an unidentified NPC sock puppet and troll organization. Most independent thinkers and writers migrated to other MGTOW forums as a result of the never-ending infighting and deliberate trouble starting caused by members who were given "carte blanche" by the admin to do whatever they want. Before my departure, I only left a few thousand cat pics here to comfort and ridicule the feminist owners who now run this place. Their background agenda is to make MGTOW look like a club of losers the public eye. And during the course of 2019, they actually managed to destroy almost all other MGTOW venues as well. And when on a mission, then you put invisibly fine metal mesh around the device to stop it from recording and communicating your position to roadside receivers. It will think that you are just driving through a tunnel or radio-free zone… And you “update” it when you get back.

And to explain the gap in your information, you happen to have a (shielded) metal garage and the car was there all night, reinforcing your alibi.

    LOL.

Or you “crack” the device and edit the information as you please.

Or you unhook all electronic bulls~~~ and have the engine running on a second, self made ECM. Who needs ABS and the FM radio when on a mission?

Modern cars p~~~ me off with the internal lights coming on when you open the door.

My long gone 1970’s car and the 1990’s VW Bus are perfect in that respect.

Turn all of that s~~~ off. All you need is the engine management and 12 Volts to the lights and some motors.

Job opportunities for car workshops: Creating stealth cars…

    All manual and stealth.

They’ve already phased out the sticker system here in NSW – a pain in the ass, since if you are ever driving any vehicle other than your own, you have no idea if it’s registered. Here it was a way to save money, our government wants everyone to do all the business of government themselves, on line, so they can sack all the public servants.

I’ll be fixing my “classic cars” until they fall apart.

In 5 years time I can get a “historic” license plate… (Just entered my mind that my old T4 Bus is sacred from now on.)

I think of all the people serving hard time who will lose their current jobs making license plates.

They will all be out of a job and how will they make their cigarette and canteen spending money now? They’ll all need new jobs.
It’s those little things like candy and a soda that make the time go by easier .. and some of those guys are absolutely and totally innocent and were railroaded simply by a poor defense representation in a feminist leaning system.

Cell phones aren’t, or aren’t “supposed to be” tracked by the government without a warrant. So, AFAIK this is new to the extent that registration tags/license plates are government mandated for anyone driving a vehicle.

The broader and more disturbing issue is precisely what you say though – that this type of “tracking” is becoming more widespread due to this notion of the “interconnectedness of things”. Eventually, why bother having so many devices being tracked, when it will be much easier to simply put a RFID chip into an individual. Just “Think of all the harm it can prevent!” i.e. terrorism, etc.

    Resident cynic.
