Islam is one of the greatest evils that exists out there. Source:- Malaysian living near the Singapore-Malaysia border. I studied in USA for a couple of years and learned how valuable freedom of speech and freedom of expression is.

Then when I came home, I felt like an unwelcome alien, a man who embraced Western ideas such as freedom of speech and individuality and I also became an atheist (I have to thank that Evolution course professor for that one, Evolution is not taught in Malaysian schools) but now stuck in an Eastern nation where religion, conformity and censorship is the lauded norm.

I think the shooting is tragic, but should be kept in perspective. The number of people killed, is that killed in 8 or 9 days in traffic accidents in Florida on public roads. So should it cause a major change in policy or billions of dollars of expenditure?

I also believe the right to bear arms, is worth the cost of lives in these incidents. I also don’t believe these incidents are completely preventable. That may sound crass, but do I value people’s right to protect themselves; just like the freedom to drive a car results in highway fatalities, so too does the right to bear arms.

I would really like to see a VOLUNTARY media blackout of incidents like this; just tell us it happened, and go to websites for details. Why? Because terrorists perform the attacks to get media attention. Osama got exactly what he wanted in 9/11; US involvement in expensive mideast wars, which increased radicalization. There are certainly alternate responses.

I, for one, would have liked to see total elimination of all taxes (corporate, income, capital gains) for domestic oil production on 9/12/2001, rather than the huge expansion of the federal government. That, and complete elimination of all foreign aid to ANY countries. No reason to hate us if we don’t support your enemy or enemies. Dropping this ‘oil price bomb’ would truly be devastating to the regiemes in the Middle East.

I also get tired of the gun narrative. The Fearless Leader Obama said we can do something about it, by changing our laws. Ridiculous. When the Norway attack occurred in 2011 (Brevik), it commenced with a CAR BOMB that killed 8 people and injured 209. All that with NO GUNS. Of course, the remaining 69 fatalities, were shot with guns. But this is in a country with STRICT gun control. Criminals, nut jobs, terrorists, etc will still get guns. A LAW will not stop them. Do laws stop the drug trade? Municipal gun bans will keep anyone in the club from killing the shooter dead, though.

I also call bulls~~~ on Fearless Leader calling it a ‘hate crime’. I don’t give a s~~~ if the shooter killed people because they were gay, American, white, or black — the same justice should apply.

What is a ‘hate crime’? Is it a ‘hate crime’ when I have to pay higher taxes than non-working people to support them? Oh, I forgot, hate crimes cannot be committed against white hetero cis males, so the high taxes must be a ‘love crime’.

I saw someone on the news today talking about this. Apparently he was on the watch list for a while but didn’t do anything to warrant continued observation. However, they also said that he had some type of gun permit that required him to fire weapons every year to stay up to date for the permit.

Um, call me stupid, but if someone has been identified as a possible terrorist and has that type of gun permit, that should be enough to warrant continued observation. Our intelligence community doesn’t seem very intelligent.
