Did you try learning guitar? I remember you mentioned giving it a try in a post a few months ago.

    Ancient Wisdom;

As an idea for the Friday/Satruday night alternative to the bar/club scene, perhaps I could make a suggestion? I asked the forum a similar question relating to hobbies a few weeks ago. This is what I came up with.

I am looking into getting my bartender training – this way you can still socialize, make a little extra money, and be the proverbial fly on the wall. I enjoy sitting back and observing human behaviour and watching the gong show.

For me it’s low stress and a lark. Plus, it’s a way to checkout the “talent” with the possibility of easily rejecting them by simply stating “sorry, I don’t s~~~ where I eat.”

My main hobby is computers. I’ve turned that into my full time job. I don’t care what I do on computers, I just love working with them. Which is why my full time job is just “playtime” for me.

I’ve also started to get into body weight training. I’m not interested in bodybuilding/lifting, so I just do different body weight exercises every day for about an hour.

In a few weeks, I also plan on getting into advance math topics. I’ve always loved math, I have no idea why most people say it’s hard to remember when the same people can memorize a bunch of sport stats 50+ years back, have all the stats for an MMO memorized, or all the play mechanics of an RPG. Never made sense to me.

I also plan to get my motorcycle license in the near future and start to get into riding motorcycles. I’ve always loved sportsbikes.

You have met your motivation by understanding how detrimental it is to your well being to continue X.
Stop doing X. Something will fill the void.

If you have no substitute, do some chores and let your mind wander.
You are bound to have some other enjoyments, dreams, ambitions.
    Walk, just walk.

I have never been in your situation at that age, other than doing repetitive detrimental things ( or doing too much nothing ). Mine came much later.

After the Divi, I did some riding. Then, just took off for a couple weeks with no where to go. Wound up on a 4,500 mile run to Crow Agency MT.
The solstice became soulstice; soul + justice.
Just a bed roll, a phone for pics, a tablet for journaling, and a K-Mart rain suit, no gun, no tent, no real plan.

But I don’t suggest riding unless its something you do now. Most of us have relayed what we do. I’m sure you have things you like and do, if not, take those Friday and Saturday nights to research and explore or put in PRACTICE a sideline.
Outdoors stuff makes us so human and more connected to the planet its quite satisfying.

FUN is the KEY. No other reason to live if not for FUN<
Once I figured it out, and had fun, lived fun enjoyed fun, yep even screwed for fun, even work became fun. Now I can finally take the gals IF I want. NOT TAKE the gals if I want not.

And very important for me now, MGTOW is a new hobby to complete and compliment my lifestyle. I’m in the early stages but it looks like
    ‘The Way’ is my way.

I like to build things or just put things together.

1 Build 3D puzzles and make a 3D puzzle city out of them
2 Build custom foam board buildings (some 7 feet tall) and make my own version of Raccoon City.
3 Build PC computers. I want to do that for money.
4 Fix computers or replace parts. I want to do that for money.
5 Build my Ninja Turtle and Resident Evil (when I had it) websites.
6 Bike ride shirtless for 20 hours a week while listening to my iPod
    7 Play Resident Evil.
8 Try my luck on Illinois Lottery scratch offs and try to win $5,000 a Week For Life. With that, I can live my life without having to apply for another job that ends up going to someone else every time.
9 Once a month I go to the local bar for all you can eat fish fry (grilled).
10 Converse with you guys on MGTOW.
11 Follow FOX News and politics
12 Go to the gym (I should be doing it more).
13 Watch movies, including 80s/90s Anime.
14 Rarely I’ll read a book and when I do, it’s based on something to improve my life or make money.
15 Workout with resistance bands in my room.
16 Watch wrestling, Monster Jam off my MP4s on my flash drives.
    17 Watch internet porn
18 Watch or do the following sports: biking, weight lifting, volleyball, bowling, wrestling, motor sports, shooting hoops, backboard tennis
19 Decorate my Man Cave bedroom.

I didn’t realize I do so much until I listed them.

Things I like to do some day:
1 Fish for big fish, kill it, eat it for dinner. Manly way to make a meal; catch it, kill it, butcher it, and eat it. If it’s a fur, wear it.
2 Hunting, but I have no experience with a real gun. In fact, I never touched a real gun. I wonder if I legally can, because I do have a mental disorder.
3 Software develop. I want to make something that can be installed on those fancy phones people are so obsessed about.

So I’m the kind of guy who likes to make, build and assemble things.

I did buy a guitar, but I haven’t practiced much. It takes some serious dedication.

Thank you for all of your replies.

    I feel like a f~~~ing dirt bag…

I really wanted some pussy today, so I called a hooker.

It wasn’t great – their tricks, so I had to keep my wits about me.

What p~~~es me off is that I have this NEED for pussy, and I had to satisfy it. I have ZERO patience, and that plays part and parcel with me partaking in such activities.

I just feel like a dirt bag now.

Oh – on another note: I texted a friend of mine last night to see if he wanted to hang out. He LITERALLY replied with “at the courthouse in Vegas, getting married”.

    I simply responded with “wow”.

He called me 5 minutes later, with his new “wife” on speaker phone with him. He said I was the FIRST person they had spoken to as a husband and wife. He’s not even that good of a friend. It just goes to show one, that people get married over NOTHING, AND most people now days don’t have THAT close of friendships.

You would think he’d have a DOZEN other “friends” or family to make an initial call after getting married. He didn’t. It’s so bizarre to me.

Anyway, that was my weekend. Things aren’t what they seem.

What is your personality like? Are you the type that likes to veg in his free time? Or are you more work driven?

I’m the 200% or nothing “type”. It’s either VERY good, or VERY bad. I always say – ‘I’m a good hamster, I’m just on the wrong wheel’.

Typically on a Friday/Saturday night I go out for drinks. I’m getting f~~~ing sick of it. I love drinking and witty bar room banter, but once the booze sets in it invariably leads to at the very LEAST noticing some eye-candy in the room. I’m sick of the mind f~~~.

I’m in my late 30’s now. I’d like to find some other things to do for fun. I know this is entirely relative, but have any of you been in the same boat (used to love going out for drinks and found something new to replace it?).

I understand “fun” is subjective, and I’m not asking anyone – ‘what’s fun’; I’m interested in hearing from guys who have had the same experience – tired of what the bar room leads to, which is young women getting attention, and as a result of that annoyance, what did you find to take it’s place?

In my mid-forties and just learning how to GMOW, but for the past few years, I’ve gone out alone a fair amount (travel for work, etc.). Since I wasn’t into the whole ‘pick-up’ scene at bars, I often chose the bar based upon activities. I play pool, throw darts, often being open and inviting to allow others to feel welcome to jump in and play as well. That has led to interesting conversations and at least a little competition. Perhaps a league is a good choice for you as well…

Sounds like you need to start a business related to something you find interesting. You like that area already, so your interest shouldn’t decline, making money gives you the validation and drive to keep at it.

For me personally, if I’m not at work, I’m working at home for my business. If I’m not doing either of those two things, then I’m out having fun or exercising or something. I rarely have true downtime, where I’m vegging in front the tv or playing video games nowadays. Being single makes it A LOT easier to focus on yourselfas well.

I do the bar thing too, but for me, I’d rather kick back with a bunch of guys in someone’s garage or something, smoking a cigar and drinking whiskey instead of drinking in a bar. I like the more super laid back atmosphere.

Guys in general are pretty good to chill with, you can bring up most topics, and guys will know SOMETHING about it. Whether it be cars, alcohol, women, work, video games, sports, fishing, hunting, politicsplumbing, carpentry, computers, investing, pretty much anything. You try talking to women, and you receive a blank stare unless you’re talking about shopping or reality tv. lol
