    Hey guys,

Any of you out there have any experiences with natural cures for low T levels? My doc told me about 4-5 years ago (I’m in my early 50s now) that my T levels were a bit low and recommended T gel treatments, which cost about $300 for a month’s supply. I decided to forego that at the time. I’ve also heard that replacement therapy is dangerous and can cause heart attacks, and that you become dependent on it. No thanks.

I started adding weight training to my cardio routine (which I’ve been doing for about a year), but have only managed to lose 5 lbs. I hear this helps, but I was wondering if there were any other things I can do in addition to this (i.e. certain foods to eat/avoid) to help jack my T levels.

    Thanks guys.

Yeah I heard about the soy, but never touch it. I drink water out of those 2-gallon plastic containers with the spigot on the bottom. Don’t know what’s worse…that or the flouride & chlorine in the tap water. Tap water where I live has a touch of that swimming pool flavor…

Definitly eggs. I heard the way it works is your body turns cholesterol into testosterone, and eggs got cholesterol! Leg day is a good boost. Any weight training will release testosterone but your legs are your biggest muscles. My trainor recommends oatmeal to boost T, but I dont have any evidence behind it. Also try a fluoride free toothpaste. Tom’s is a widely available brand for that.

According to many sources, T-production responds positively to resistance training, High Intensity Cardio and slower, so-called ‘steady state’ activity, like normal walking over a sustained period of time–let’s say an hour. The mid-range aerobic activities people often choose–jogging, swimming laps, spinning/stationary bike–don’t seem to deliver positive T-production. In fact, because these exercises do little to enlarge muscle mass or increase muscular strength, they do little to help natural Test along, even if they deliver other health benefits like cardiovascular endurance and BMI reduction.

These ideas form the basis for my current exercise program. At age 62, I am getting some progress with a steady diet of conventional barbell lifts every other day and normal walking. I have rejected the possibility of High Intensity Cardio because I doubt my ability (and desire) to bring enough intensity to it to do any good.

Over time, I have reduced my body fat and increased muscle mass, eating with great appetite and getting plenty of sleep. My sex drive and erectile capacity have definitely improved.

If you want to predictable raise your T in an effective way, your most effective bet is a male health clinic and bioidentical testosterone. You need a good battery of hormone testing and labs need to be checked every three months as a general rule.

“Health insurance” typically only pays for it if it is clinically low AND below 350. The problem is that once it is raised above 350,,you are at the whim of the doctor and insurance company.

Men’s clinics typically do not accept “insurance” so they have much more latitude. This is not like going to the doctor and getting Oxy’s for “back pain”. This is an art as much as science. Do not let any schmock MD treat you after a 5-minute visit. I spend 1/2 ->1 hour first time I meet patient. All history is pertaining and physical, exam should be comprehensive.

There is soooo much things to this. And the medical establishment does NOT like us non-trade dpcs doing this. We have to me super cautious and document like nothing else.

For anyone interested in some legal-philosophy over this, read an essay written by an MD/JD that is called “Spillage from the fountain of youth” by Adnan Husain at university of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. It paints a frightening futuristic view on hormone therapy and need for government to,regulate it.

Finally, even the “wizards” on Fox News (Medical A team) used t) say it could increase risk of prostate cancer. Not true and has been debunked by studies and serial biopsies by Dr Morgenthaler.

Research, learn, question and learn some more.

    To be continued…

Unless you are deficient in cholesterol, eggs are not proven to help raise your levels. Cholesterol is endogenously made as well.

Too much cholesterol is not good either. I had patients that came t me and was on statins, eating eggs every day and then wanted to be started on T. A huge mess, especially if their cardiologist insisted on his LDL’s staying below 90, or even 70. Medicine is soooo fragmented in America these days that I even have heard a kidney specialt being surprised over hearing opiates makes people fatigued.. nobody wants to use brain any more.

This stuff is complex s He11, but oh God how fascinating stuff. My “mini dream” is to open a T clinic in the new science “Silicon Valley” that is emerging in Moscow. From next year, Russia will let foreign docs practice without having to sit for Russian medical boards if they are board certified in another country. Some US medical corporations are already aiming of going there and setting up shop. Once I got my Russian back up and have found a good and headstrong Russian entrepreneur to help me out, I will open a clinic there, planned for medical tourism and also lower cost option for Russian men.

Did I say I love Russia, Russians and Russian culture? I think I did, despite a couple of relatives, I obviously never met, who died during Talvisota and Jatkosota. However, my grandfather spent 6 months in Norway prison for spying on German navy in Northern Norway in 1943 and 44 and giving away ship locations to Soviet intelligence. First thing they (Norwegian intelligence) did after war was to throw him in prison for “foreign fighting”. I am sure the Cold War had NOTHING to do,with that. Personally, I am very distraught over how the relationship has soured between USA and Russia. Norwegians feel, caught in the middle, but I don’t.think there are many who would sign up for any protracted conflict with them. That would be the ultimate corporate slave fest, no thanks..

I can even put drink the Russians, but then again, I got 25% Finnish blood, so……..

Yes, of all exercises, resistance training is best to raise T in itself.

Don’t give up on HIT. If you intend to bang chicks, even if it is on vacation and want to impress with stamina, HIT is way to go, besides all the energy you get as well. Nothing is better and more satisfying than being able to do HIT.

Finally, your erection is a great marker of overall health. Morning erection is a very good marker. Your penis has the hardest erection during REM sleep, so lay off bentos and booze. Throw alarm clock away and get a dawn simulator. Will give you one more REM cycle.

The deal is, testosterone is extremely cheap, if you consider TRT, is even cheaper than the doses that you use when you what to grow some hardcore muscles.
What is expensive is the damn piece of paper (prescription) that let you buy it.

Find a way to get those prescriptions for free, and forget any website/online s~~~ that says “natural increases your testosterone with this trick” or anything similar. Go to a doctor, determine how much test you need, determine which form of test you need (there are several), and then find a way to get a lot of prescriptions for it.

Here, the amount needed for TRT, is about 2$ per week, a descent amount of testosterone if you want to increase your sport performance (3 compounds), you can get for about 40$ a month.

Eating more zinc will help with boosting testosterone-Simply Because It removes Estrogen .
Eat 1-3 servings of a high zinc food daily- beef, lamb, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, lentils, garbanzo beans, cashews, quinoa, turkey, shrimp
    1. Add an additional serving of animal protein daily / Estrogen Removal Is a seesaw effect Which Relies on the bonding of Zinc with fats . And removed by the liver
    2. Eat 1/4 cup of a fermented food daily- to help with proper gut flora affecting hormones and the immune system (sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, miso, tempeh, kefir (if well tolerated), any other fermented vegetable)Probiotics have been Known to increase the Testicular size in the area that Makes Testosterone . I use kefir Grains .
    3. Eat full fat as much as possible (dairy if you tolerate it, and coconut milk, etc). The higher fat the better at this point to keep hormones improving.
All this Relies on A healthy Cardio Program to Remove Fats . I ride a Pedal bike dialy .You did Say You Are Older . Running And Massive Weight Training May Injure you .
I also add D aspartic Acid in the Early spring ( Month on Month off Month on ) with egg Yolk . I cut the Suggested Amount in Half The Egg yolk Increases Intake to the Body .

Haven’t time to post links or sources, but look into supplementing with Boron. I sprinkle a tiny amount of Borax on my lunch every day. I weight train 3 times a week, and at 56 I’m still making gains. It reputedly removes fluoride from your body and helps shrink your prostate as well as boosting T. Loads of vids on YouTube about it, Thomas De Lauer is a good place to start.

Try and spend time in the sun and do some weight training. Muscle increases testosterone. Fat reduces it.

Yes an Rx is not expensive. That is not the problem. It is the knowhow which is. Just like going to a high-level personal trainer, it is the brain of the person you pay for.

It takes immense training to learn balancing T on it’s own. Labs should ideally be drawn and interpreted every 3 months. I don’t,know anyone, not even top fitness trainers who are capable of doing that OHO. Nobody but a physician, MD/DO/ND.

Most physicians are no more serfs than personal trainers are working for free. For example.

*What will you do if the estradiol level rises to fast?

*How will Hemoglobin level be managed and predicted if it goes to high?

*will you take Testosterone, Aromatoase inhibitorsand/or HCG, and when will you stop one or two,of them?

*Someone worked incredibly hard to be able to prescribe that “damn piece of paper”.

*When will you taper down and readjust dosing? A delicious process that takes time and brains to figure out.

I treat SOME people for free. One of them is a personal, trainer that is going for national level spartan races. His success is free advertisement for me. I treat some friends for free. However, that “free” essentially means me giving them my time for free.

Physicians are not selling a piece of food or a produce. They are selling their skills. Many people think healthcare should be totally free and “insurance” should pick up the bill.

Without trying to start a flame war here, this is pure entitlement thinking that is mixed with disdain for those who write that “damn” piece of paper and you don’t want to recognize that. Why should any physician (unless you know them personally and are owed a favor) be working for free for you? Do you expect your car mechanic to fix your car for free or your plumber to fix your busted pipes for free, as long as you pay for the Material?

This is a classic example of why more and more physicans opt out of insurance schemes. When it takes 8 years after HS without making a living; 3-5 years of residency salary and then years of experience after that to aqcuire a skill set, why would any schmuck work for free after that? Instead, those same physicians are demonized for charging for their time to write that damn Rx. How dare they? I remember paying $55 an hour for a great personal trainer. I bought by shoes, sweatshirts and sports drinks on my own..even bought the pulse meter myself. What did he do? Oh, he just told me what to do. Why should I pay him, anything.

I have said my point here. This is unfortunately becoming the norm of thinking in entitled America.

Man small, why fall. Earth’s call, that’s all.

Actually, your Testosterone levels are the highest in the mornings, and this leads to “morning wood”.

Try WHATEVER you want, but in the end, if you are NOT getting morning Wood then chances are very HIGH that you have LOW Free Testosterone, and the chances of “raising” your test level at your age is HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

Remember, that when you go to a doctor for Testosterone Replacement, it does NOT boost your low testosterone, it REPLACES your Testosterone.

As far as it causing heart attacks that’s an old wives tail was debunked years ago.

And, as far as becoming dependent upon it. What happens is that your body stops producing it’s own Test because You are Replacing it with preferably injectable bio-identical Test.

If you go off it, chances are your body may take some time to start making its own Test again, but remember it will only go back to maybe making the deficient amount that you were previously making as your natural test levels decline as you age. So, that begs the question of; Why would you want to do that ?
