Great thread,
Minimalism is a smart life choice.
I met a very rich celebrity a few years back and we had several great conversations. This person had always had money and fame, anything he wanted could literally be summoned at his request. And he told me that once you have it all, then you realize that it means nothing, and then you live life for the experiences, the genuine experiences of meeting people who like you for you, not people who like you for your money or what you can do for them. Shadyac produced a movie called “I Am” that talked about his rise to success and how his riches left him feeling empty in a world with so much inequality and suffering.
When you think about it, we trade our life, our precious time, for money. We use the money to buy senseless stuff because society has conditioned us to do so.
Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.

Anonymous1I’ve been finding the topic of minimalism more and more interesting.
My best friend of 16 years that lives next door to me was talking about how he was thinking about it, and the more I think about it myself, the more it sounds more and more appealing……………………………………………..As I thought about selling my bed and getting a couch bed (which practically cuts the use of a bed AND couch when it fills both), my best friend actually happened to sell his bed today. He just got $450 for his queen sized bed, and he’s actually going to sleep on a mattress topper, as he’s found the floor to be equally, if not more, comfortable as his bed (he prefers a firm sleeping platform like I do). He has a LOT more space in his bedroom now, and if he decided to move, there went his heaviest item!
Now, I won’t be able to sell my vastly inferior bed for $450, but I could definitely sell it for some extra money that I would like to keep on the side…………………………………………………………………….
Hello Megachris,
I read some of your previous post and know that you are having a bit of money issues. If I am wrong I am sorry about this post. I highly suggest you look into re-selling to make extra money. You might think this is petty but trust me it can make you decent amount of money. After my 9-5 office job I go to thrift store to find junk to re-sell. I buy stuff for 5 dollars and re-sell for 50. I resold a name brand garment bag for 50 and bought it for 10. Not bad for a 5 dollar investment. I also go to yard/estate sales and also go to flea market. I re-sell my items on Craigslist, ebay and Amazon. There are plenty of youtubers that you can watch to learn about this. Give it a try if you need some extra money. I do this so I can save more money and not have to work for the “MAN”. I think you are 27 years old like me. Give it a try.

Anonymous1My post is placed inside along with the quote. Sorry about that. I don’t post much so did not know. My mistake.
