I hope I’m not misunderstood here.  I’m really not out to p~~~ anyone off.  But when I hear fatalistic whining, I’m sorry but that’s for boys, not Men.  There is another option besides celibacy and I’m just out to point the way.  If I sound c~~~y, it’s because I’m ecstatic.  And there’s plenty to go around so I don’t mind sharing the news.

I worked for a guy who moved his business to the Phillipines to the point where I ran the business for him (here) for 2 years ……and he came back for 3 short visits annually. I can tell you from personal experience what the Phillipinos (majority of crew) earn on a cruise ship – even on the finest cruise line in the world.

They worked 14-16 hours a day – 7 days a week – for $90 a week. Back in 2002.
And they share a cabin with at least 3 others.

The western employee / officer / crew get 10 times that – in cash – and their own cabin. PLUS maid and laundry service.

You may be living the life – but SHE is not.

We eat and grill a $40 steak and drink a $4 bottle of beer without a thought. This makes a Phillipino physically ill to watch. The Phillipino crew have it so bad compared to us, you can’t even begin to imagine. Being at sea 11 months out of 12, and some of them are lucky if they get to see their families 1 month out of 12.. They watch American / Western / UK / Australian employees with officer’s rank sit in the air-conditioning and go ashore with the tour buses… while they stay on the ship for 14 hours with no privileges and work at the grill in 106 degree (+humidity)…… as they watch the officers with their own cabins and maid & laundry service get all the fresh fruit first. The Phillipinos get the bruised apples and they are grateful for it. You would be sick to live as they do on a cruise ship and won’t last 3 days.

And they think they have it GOOD.
Many of them send money HOME. They support their families on $90 a week – remotely.

When the situation is THAT dire, naturally any western man looks like a “king”. She doesn’t “treat you like a king” because you’re so awesome. She treats you like a king because you have it so good – and she does not. I walked by them in my crisp , white uniform ….. a tall white western man. I must have looked like Richard Gere to them. I am fully aware I could have snapped my fingers and had a Phillipina swinging from my c~~~ 8 days a week – busting my door down.

When I would order a cheeseburger and pineapple juice for lunch, they looked at me like they wanted to kill me. When I took the bun back and asked them to toast it, I actually had to keep one eye on it so he wouldn’t spit on it. It was rumored they did this. They had to SERVE me. I made 10X as much money and Pineapple juice was not free – even for me. It was around $3. $3 for a f~~~ing juice. I drank for lunch what they worked 4 hours to earn.

Now… when you put that in perspective, To date someone who is 10X less fortunate than you doesn’t make you “a king”. It makes you a commoner who dates someone 10x less fortunate than you. But give them equal opportunities, equal employment, equal treatment, like women have in the west and everyone here knows she will initiate a divorce from you so fast it would turn your hair white.
