Guns and somewhere to go out of the city sound a good idea, as does a little gold. You are going to want to trade something some time before they get the world back on line. One imagines the country would be hardly touched. People might get a bit more peace for a few days. Cities where everyone holds money electronically and has no more food resources than a cupboard can hold, there things might get nastier…

…Would the urban bad boys still steal all the electronic goods out of the shops while the power was off (like they always do in a break down of law and order)? Or would they settle just for the trainers that time?

No offense meant, as I was referring to the “criminal element” that you hear about on the news. Personal safety for you and family comes first.

Most everybody else would be hunkered down in their homes, or trying to evacuate by bike/foot immediately after the attack. Social order IS probably going to break down within hours during the ensuing chaos, so it’s best to get a move on before then (no LEO, paramedics, ect, everything is fried)…..that’s after everybody FINALLY REALIZES the government isn’t going to do anything. The Government doesn’t exist anymore, nuked into oblivion.

Plus, we have the first waves of death ( mass dieoffs are going to come in waves)

I don’t focus on the end of the world as i live day by day either way.

If society was to fall from an EMP attack id be completely f~~~ed and have to accept it (even if i was a prepper the risk of dying or being invaded in still huge as now criminals know you got s~~~).

No offense ever taken. That “criminal element” are the ones f~~~ing everything up for the rest of us.

Which is why those are the two places you do NOT want to be while waiting it out. Evacuees will turn on each other, and roving gangs of miscreants will be going door to door. If you can’t leave, and you can’t stay, the only other option is a hidden “bug in” shelter.

But only after the initial diaspora, and the chaos it takes with it, have left and died off.

I live in the UK in a rural area where guns are rare, but in the event of an EMP attack I would probably move out to the woods just up my lane, gets some sticks and start a fire with the logs we have in the back garden. We have local farmers too which is awesome.
