MEMBERS LOGIN TROUBLES (JULY 19th)

Hello and good afternoon. Have received some reports of an anomaly at the login screen. Some members are saying they are being prompted to change their password. You should not be. We have not seen anything strange – or wrong – on our end. So if you’re having trouble … it’s not personal!!

This is what the login screen should look like at /login AND we have just posted a notice for everyone:

Nobody is blocked – and may be a slight malfuction. If you experienced a temporary “block” we have just lifted all blocks and encourage you to try again. If you’re still having trouble, please note we are about to push a MAJOR new version of MGTOW.COM by August 1 or sooner. We’re working on it! Thank you and apolz for any inconvenience.

We have just responded to numerous recent emails on this topic but more members are contacting than usual and it’s probably best to post this here to make everyone aware.

Sometimes too many unsuccessful login attempts may result in a temporary (or permanent) block…. and we have to “lift’ them periodically. This was just done moments ago, so you can try again if you’re having trouble.

We have just pulled down the site and are testing off-site right now. So far we have found nothing out of the ordinary, but will let you know if we find something odd. THANK YOU.

I don’t either. It’s very odd. But I don’t mind “pausing” the site for a while to get to the bottom of it. We are DYING to push the new version and maybe I will do it sooner than later. Just know that it’s not personal for “some” members or others.

PS… have just remote logged in on another machine in Las Vegas. Am not seeing any other login screen than the one posted above.. nor have I been prompted to change password or anything odd. But like I said, We have pulled down a clone of the site and if I find anything off in the next hour or two, I’ll updated it here.

Very sorry if some members are disappointed, but it should be redeemed in short order.

Guys tell me they see a big letter W!

and a request to make a stronger password, but when they change password, they are not redirected anywhere

Some sort of Word Press dead end thing I guess.

hop on zoom and ask the guys there to screen share their login experience

Ok I want to know what LINK is in the address bar when they see that. (What page are they on?)

One member sent a screenshot of what you’re describing and that’s the default wordpress login screen but that’s actually not reachable. It’s a little strange they are seeing it at all. But the screenshot doesn’t show what page he is on. If anyone comes across the “W” (WordPress) login screen here, please post the address of that page.

THANKS VERY MUCH!! Would be a big help in solving.

PS… I will also use our basic member demo account to retrieve password and see if I can go through the same process they are going through – from requesting a new password to changing it etc. So perhaps don’t give it another thought and know that I’m all over this problem like I’m gonna kill it – and eat it.

he gets the W and change password screen

Really.

Your first example post above ( with the white box and the login link) takes me to the expected login screen as I posted at top.

The default WordPress login screen would normally be /wp-login.php but thats’ not reachable as far as we can see here. It ALWAYS redirects to /login as it should.

Would really love to know HOW he is arriving at the WordPress login screen.

This link has a slash before the “com” instead of a dot. I’m assuming thats’ a typo. Theres nothing there.

But even still… as long as it’s at https://www.mgtow.com, then that’s still not a security concern. That’s still in the right place. I will be thrilled if the only problem is seeing the WP login screen. That’s not a big deal. It’s the inability to log in that’s a big deal.

This thread is “super sticky” and marked yellow in every forum. Every visitor will see it. I’ll plan to join the zoom at 7PM and see what’s what.

not sure who will be around then, all the zoom guys are Eastern and Central. I can’t duplicate the problem

this seems like an public ip address resolution problem on the server?

KM We tried looking at a DNS resolution problem

We did tracert mgtow.com to get the mgtow ipaddress
then tried putting the 209.188.XX.XX address in the address bar

I can still access the site, no one else can get in using ipaddress
