This is a good thing to address.. I do miss those men who go away and hope they all know they have my best wishes and hopes that they will return…

I took a break because of lack of time (working) more than someone hacking my google plus account and screwing with my publishing  at the urban site… Just a coincidence that the timing was the same..I did get your/our deffinition re-published and in my absence you men have steadily upvoted it at urban dictionary..Showing the commitment you all have to spreading the life-saving words of MGTOW. We are on track to overtake the top MGTOW definition some time this year even with the average 15 to 20 up-votes a day we are getting….We/I can do better!!!

You men are incredibly warm and welcoming towards the battered and sometimes tortured souls that sign up here..I feel a true connection with this place and and all you men, and it does have an uncomfortable  effect on me when someone goes away…

I have more work pending that will limit my postings from time to time, but have no plans to leave for good…I write private pages ( to leave something of myself for my grandchildren) everyday and have some things I have been meaning to copy and paste into the forum when I have time to set them up properly.. (explain in more depth why and when I wrote them)…

When I am forced to be away It is always a pleasant moment when I log back in. The attitudes, commitment and overall look of the site improves without fail…My sincere thanks to everyone responsible….Members and staff alike..

I understand the reasoning behind not having a private messaging function here, but I do miss reading dolla and listen-up and some of the others who I exchanged ideas with previously, though haven’t seen lately. I know that if I go back and find those threads where they’ve posted and I write something, there is a chance they are still receiving emails with follow up replies and they will see what I’ve posted. But I don’t have an efficient way of going back and finding those posts, and no way to know if they are still receiving follow ups on them.

I’ve thought about this but would not be mentioning it now if not for this thread. I have this suggestion, but it’s only a suggestion and may not necessarily be a good one (feel free to discard…I’m not emotionally invested in this idea). Is it technically possible, and reasonable to have either some kind of username directory where I could find a username and click on it to get a list of that persons postings, or a function where I could search the site for a given username and find threads that a user has posted on? I know if I click on my own username on a given thread, I can get to a point where I can see a list of my own posts, and I assume I could do this with any other username. But I don’t have an efficient way to find a thread that Listenup has posted on, without going back and reading the whole threads of all of the ones I’ve posted on. And I don’t know a way to see what usernames are still receiving followup emails for posts on a given thread. So no way to know if he would even see what I wrote.

I don’t want to seem stalker-ish here though. So short of this, KM please pass on my regards to those guys, and let them know they are missed…

I have been going my own way since the mid 80’s and haven’t dated since 2000. Whenever my father tried to set me up with a woman to date and get married I pretty much bailed on numerous occasions. I had many chances to date women without spending a dime. I was so disguised with many women who were in relationships or married. The last time I had feelings for a woman was 2006, never ended being a relationship with her but I saw the bulls~~~.

@KM i owe you and the big YT MGTOW content providers loads.I try to read comments and post every day if not with my PC then with my phone.I think about all the blue pill young men out there stumbling around in the dark not knowing what they are bumping into.

I think this comes from the TOTAL lack of acknowledgement and understanding that men are forced to deal with in their lives. Just ONE guy reading your 10 paragraph intro is like a REALLY big deal to new arrivals. This is apparent when they say “thanks for reading” or “sorry about my long post”… like they are APOLOGIZING for opening themselves up like that. So when a guy listens, reads, composes a direct response, we think… “S~~~ these guys are AWESOME!! Thanks for the warm welcome you guys!!”. Like they have been in the desert on their own, and MGTOW is a glass of ice water.

One guy (saddio?) actually said exactly that. It’s in our testimonials on the homepage:
“MGTOW is an oasis / cool glass of water among this madness”.

I have written some lengthy s~~~ myself and when I click POST, I think “WTF am I doing? Nobody’s gonna read all that” and they DO! It’s mind blowing. That investment is really worthwhile and means something to others.

To answer this, you can always click an avatar of an EXISTING user to see their forum profile (very minimal at the moment) and click on their “topics” or “replies” they created in the forums. Look at the URL link to see who they are. You get a list of all their replies paginated for you and can go as far back as someone’s intro.

If a user is entirely deleted, they get an “anonymous” label. You should be able to still see what they posted and scan their replies, even though it’s not immediately apparent who (exactly) left the comment. This is OK too, because the “who” is only secondary to the content of the comment anyway. Even if it’s a female infiltrator. Whether she is female (or a white knight) doesn’t REALLY matter as much as the content of the post itself. Even men who have posted inappropriate s~~~ have been deleted and outed by other members. But we don’t just delete unless ABSOLUTELY necessary – or the user requests it. So if you don’t find something because a user is deleted, that’s the way it SHOULD be. Existing users can be SPECTATOR, PARTICIPANT or even BLOCKED. Those statuses still qualigy as “existing” technically.

I have used this method effectively, but some prolific members can have dozens of pages of replies..It works well but it is not always a fast process…..Someone who has 2 to 5 pages of replies is not so bad…I love to read anyways so I figured this out quick so I could read everything certain members have written in the past…BrainPilot has 32 pages of replies.  KeyMaster has 141 pages of replies. I am a fast reader and have good retention, but am not anywhere close to reading everything I would like at this site…Dr Vertical/QWV is another member who I like reading. Ah yes, OK, pay attention because this is important and I will try and clarify.

We have TWO searches.

1. SITE SEARCH (very top right) is the front end MGTOW.COM site search — for our archives, posts, quotes, videos, posters, articles and such.

2. EXCLUSIVE FORUM SEARCH which is for the forums only and is available to you on all forum pages on the right of the black “recent forum replies” area.

The reason we allow you to search the forums and site separately, is because the content on the site is regulated by MGTOW.com. Nobody else can add posts there (yet). The forums content is created by members only and is self / user-generated. So let’s say someone in the forums mentions “Christopher Walken”. If you want to find that, you use the forums yellow search box and search for “walken”.

But, if you do that at the very top (front end search), you will find no results.

We do this intentionally, because if someone in the forums posts something totally inappropriate, it won’t show up in a front end search. Think of the forums as a separate live entity unrelated to our archives.

This is why you will only get one quote result for “keymaster” in the front end.
That’s my only mention that’s searchable on mgtow.com right now.
Use the forum search and you’ll see “keymaster” all over the place.

Sorry if this was confusing. We have clarified it before and should definitely do it again.
I can see how this would be confusing, but it’s done this way for good reason.

We do have a members directory, but not a searchable one.
It just lists all the members in the order they joined — welcoming the newest.

I could put a page like what you’re requesting together (or something cool like that which is searchable) pretty easily. Let me add that to the to-dos. Can’t do it right away, but in the next week possibly. Good tip thanks for asking.

This site is great but we are after all, going our own ways, MGTOW sites are more like cross sections to me, where you meet another person who has freed himself of his shackles, exchanging some stories, and then going our separate ways once again.

Everyone has different paths they desire to take, as long it’s for their own fulfilment and goals, there is no wrong in either path.

 

This site is a great place to tell what kind of crazy stuff we have witnessed over the many years, and what kind of crazy might be in store for us, in the future.

I know exactly what rhetoric means, and if I intended for it to coincide with the definition you attributed I would have stated “empty rhetoric” instead of the standalone term itself. My use of rhetoric in this case applies; you seem to be a little peeved at my suggestion, but that’s not too far fetched to assume a lot of guys end up back on the treadmill, whether they’re blue pill or self proclaimed red pill.

I’ve seen it happen too often. It’s also not a matter of reading through a few threads for enlightenment where you’re suddenly transformed into one that’s red pill, you have to grapple with years of conditioning fostered through an educational/societal system that reinforces the feminist agenda from the onset of your formative years of schooling.

As much as we can reap the benefits from being MGTOW we have to understand the battle is constant in that we’re dealing with 20-30 years of conditioning that we’re now beginning to see as all but detrimental to our manhood.

That’s actually OUR mistake – thinking people would understand the difference. Although when you open the search drawers, the grey text says “search mgtow.com” or “search the forums” in each, we were mistaken in assuming members would know the difference. Will work something else out, but until we added the forum search, the only place to search the forums was on the older / previous forums index page. When we made it new, the little yellow forums search box on http://mgtow.com/forums/ fades in and really stands out as the “bright spot”.

Then we made it available everywhere – on all forum pages – and it probably confused people. I have noticed people searching the front end for terms that would only exist in the forums. It’s our mistake.

Back to the subject matter of things: Well, from time to time I also need a bit of a break from the forum for various reasons, be they temporary “red pill fatigues” so to speak in some cases or lack of time in other cases. But whatever it is it’s usually so far only temporary and whenever I feel like taking a break in here (for say one or a few weeks at a time) I just take it without any explanations why, but eventually I shall always come back here. Only if it maybe was foreseeable to me that I wouldn’t be back for a longer period of time (ie. a month or longer) I’d in that case make an announcement. So much on how I would handle my occasional absence, which I think is a reasonable way.

As for the next few weeks I shall most likely have enough time on my hands to be back here on quite a regular basis, also due to the lengthy holidays I’m taking all the way well into June.

 

Off-topic: Keymaster you might be interested to know, that for some reason (in my case) on the member’s list page the navigation “go to page x” function doesn’t work. I don’t know how many of you have tried this yourselves before, but whenever I want to go from say page “latest/most recent members” like to page no 12 and I first click onto the arrow down and then onto “12” then nothing (no jump) happens. The only “jump” that seems to work is the one from the first page (newest members) to the last page. If I wanted to find any other member in between those two pages I’d have to flick through them (more or less) page by page which is a bit awkward, but anyway…

My apologies as I only had time for an irreverent quip earlier….

But….I have been very busy of late (way more than usual).  My lease is up and I had to move to a transitional housing situation.  I got a new job that is way better all the way around!  I am relocating in the next 2 weeks to start the new job.  I am finally getting out of the big city and moving to a much smaller town for a much better job!  It’s exactly the situation I was seeking.  Now I have more quality time to focus on my son.  I will also be able to finally turn my attention back to making music.  Thank you Dear God for answering my prayers!  Thank you for providing this outlet KeyMaster.  It has done wonders to help me understand myself, put things in perspective, given me valuable insights, provided comaraderie, and most importantly given me the confidence back to go out and take the world by the throat and take charge of my destiny.  I’m a MGTOW Pirate now.  No Quarter asked, none given…
