Janet Shibley Hyde, PhD, of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, discovered that males and females from childhood to adulthood are more alike than different on most psychological variables, resulting in what she calls a gender similarities hypothesis. However, men and women in romantic relationships are deeply concerned with understating the basic differences between them and their mate resulting in domestic violence that too often haunts societies.

The symposium ‘Developments in Intimate Partner Violence Research and Practice’ at the British Psychological Society’s Division of Forensic Psychology annual conference in Glasgow has determined, Women are more likely to be verbally and physically aggressive towards their partners than men.

Clinical literature has verified gendered aggression over and over in that the sexes act out this aggression in completely different ways and methods. Studies show girls’ aggressive tactics included verbal aggression, gossip, ostracism, breaking confidences, backstabbing, and criticism of a victim’s clothing, appearance, or personality, and publicly annihilate the character of their foe; whereas boys engage in aggression that involves a direct physical and/or verbal assault. With these major differences between the sexes, they are the reason behind the communication difficulties and domestic violence between heterosexual couples.

1.They repeatedly question their mate, demanding he answer her. “Why are you late?”
2.She will get her face close to his and raise the volume of her voice.
3.She will repeatedly point a finger at his forehead.
4.She will call him at work often, wanting to know what he is doing.
5.“Why did you like her photos on Facebook?”
6.“If you love me you would come right home and tell me everything!”
7. “Can’t you talk to me and stay off those video games?”
8.“Tell me the truth!”

In my experience women can be quite calm and reasoned about their verbal aggression. Most of it is to induce shame in a man, to shame him into being compliant. Everyone can say heated things or things without forethought but women do not forgive the things you ever said while you have forgotten most of what they said a few hours later. The things you said will be saved and served up as weapons again and again.

“You said my mum was a witch” (you might have once in a fit of anger called her mum a witch but she calls your dad a dick every month. She however saves up this one indiscretion as weapon to use again and again any time you do not want her mum to come and stay even if your reason is legitmate and even if her mum stays round a great deal, meanwhile you forgive her saying she does not want your dad around many times and you forgive her calling him a dick. You are not weaponising something said in the past.

“If you were a real man you would stop doing X or would do Y” is common shaming tactics. It is rare for men to try to shame women into behaviour but women use words to do this all the time.

“You are a bad husband” is a great shaming phrase. Anything that can be used to express the feeling that she deserves a better man than you is an ideal weapon.

Repeated interrogation is also a tactic. This can be practically torture. To be asked the same question 20 times can result in a woman being given the answer she wants to hear just so a man can some sanity back. The answer she wants will then be replayed again and again as a weapon when later required. If men did this to women it would be called domestic abuse and women would be forgiven for stabbing them. As it is a man is just unmanly if he cracks under this abuse and even replies in an angry voice. He is not seeing the woman’s hurt or concern and he is trying to bully her with his angry voice. She can now say she feels hurt and this makes the man a bigger failure for trying to emotionally hurt a poor defenceless woman with an angry voice.

A woman is allowed to use her feelings as an excuse for abusive behaviour. A man is insensitive and cruel if he does not submit to feelings powered bullying. If a man tells her to get lost he is done with being abused, he is failing as a man to satisfy her need to talk about something. A man must provide emotional security or he has failed and this is shameful, so he must stay and bear the abuse.

Hi Tim,
Verbal aggression is not the problem. Men are direct (and can say “f* you”) and women indirect (and say “you will never account to anything”), but the issue is aggression inside a pattern of behaviour.

What few man will do is to undermine the self-worth of the other, while women consistently use these techniques as means of control.
The end goal is everything.

In a relationship a man’s aggression is usually a response. A women’s aggression is part of a systematic assault on the man’s psyche.

Saying “you will never account to anything” in a fight for money is understandable. Repeatedly drumming this idea, adding “your family is nothing”, “your brothers are also s~~~”, “why did I get involved with you” and other hurtful comments, without provocation, THAT is a consistent effort of brainwashing.

The final objective is control. The result is the destruction of the man.

In fact this is so instinctive in the gender that most women will do it to the degree that the man allows it.

Number 1, 2, 5, 7 and 8 is: 100% women do that, if a person don’t do that, then this person isn’t a woman.
4 and 6 are quite common, too, but it’s not 100% women doing it, more likely 60%-70% women.
3: never saw such behavior.

But MRAs aren’t lobbying to pass laws and policies to screw your ass, at worst you can call them “utopian”, “naive” and “uneffective”.
Furthermore there are many MRAs who actually follow a MGTOW lifestyle: those men aren’t “naive”, they are doing it right within their private life, and then they have such hobby of trying to better the things – probably useless, but it doesn’t hurt.

Now, I’ve only been verbally assaulted once by an ex-gf. She was trying to get me to confess cheating on her. I didn’t. If I did I wouldn’t of done it with the person she accused me of putting my dick in. I didn’t yell, I didn’t scream, but I knew it was time to walk away. I think she was looking for an out, but didn’t want to make it look like it was her fault. Looking back now I should have lied and told her I raw dogged that diseased bitch.

I’ve been physically assaulted twice. Once by an ex due to me laughing so hard at finally meeting one of her exes. This dude was pure loser. One of those little skinny white guys that thought he was a hardcore ghetto thug. Absolutely no future. She punched me right in the chest hurting her hand. I looked her right in the eye and asked her what would she think would happen if I punched her? If it’s not okay for me to punch you, why is it okay for you to punch me? She never hit me again.

The second time I was with a gf from a third world country where it’s okay defend yourself against assault. She decided to lose her s~~~ and wail on me. Didn’t hurt, but I wasn’t about to let her try to hit something softer and lower. I just pushed her away, and asked her the same question I asked the other ex 18 years earlier. She just sat there and pouted while I gathered her s~~~ and kicked her out. To this day I have no idea why she wanted to fight. She just thought it was a good day to start an argument and hit me.

For some reason women really think it’s okay to yell, scream, and hit. If it wasn’t for the laws I’d say if they are man enough to throw hands they are man enough to get hands laid on them. Equal opportunity and all that.

I would not say that it is just laws. There is a thin coat of civility painted over every man alive. Some thicker than others.
But it is true, men’s hands are tied while women’s “hands” are free and encouraged to do their kind of violence: emotional and psychological.
