It’s simple really, Women get mentored and when they have used up all these men have to offer, these men get #me tooed, or accused of sexual harassment. What a great way to nab a promotion and clear the path for yourself? Haven’t you ever wished your boss was gone. Now these women have perfect way to insure promotion, only if there are men stupid enough to mentor women.

I will mentor no females in a workplace. I will not intervene if I see one being assaulted on the street. I had my tubes snipped so I cannot impregnate females anymore. I will not ever again marry or live with a female. I will never again white knight for a female.

Interesting article Eric Lauder. I’m not surprised that men with much to lose are avoiding women. Hell, every man knows that, or can easily predict it. I’m only surprised that those men are admitting it. Don’t they realize that they have something women want, and feel entitled to take? When women target you for something that they want, they will not accept you just avoiding them. They feel just as entitled to access to you as they feel entitled to take from you once they get that access.
In the article, women basically lay it out: you are not allowed to avoid them. And once you interact with them, THEY will decide wether you are clueless, creepy, or criminal.
For any who are confused or uncertain about which of these labels will be assigned to you, let me clarify: they will get from you the behavior they demand, and they will use these labels to attack you if you refuse. Which label you get will vary depending on the value of what you have to take, and the strength of the resistance you mount against those demands.

Why mentor someone so they can take your job?
Sure, as stated in the article not hiring women because they are women and avoiding them MAY be illegal but in that court of law, men and upper management still have due process on their side. It has to be proven that you didn’t hire them because they are women. Going the other route, there is no day in court, no due process. HR gets involved and decides whether you are worth keeping over an impending law suit and can the company over come the negative PR associated with a sexual harassment claim. It’s a no brainer. The lesser of two evils is taking your chances in court with a discrimination claim.
Feminism isn't about equality with men, it's about leverage over men.

The other aspect to this that no one is mentioning is the jealous nature of women. If the male manager is married, there is no doubt that his wife will not like the idea of him spending time alone with another woman. It’s going to make his home life that much more worse. Even if he’s not married, there will be issues with other women in the workplace. If the protege is remotely attractive, other women will claim she was chosen for her looks, possible accuse the manager of granting work favors for sexual favors with no proof whatsoever. There is just no win in this arraignment.

Why mentor someone so they can take your job?
It really depends on your company’s management structure and philosophy. Some places will not want to promote a manager till it’s clear that he’s trained someone to capably take his place. And depending on the mentoring, it also helps to have someone available when someone else leaves the company.
My company, you earn promotions by either whining the loudest or frequent happy hour with the boss.
Ok. Then do it.
