The chat feature is hardly a “OMG! I gotta sign up and pay RIGHT NOW!” feature. It certainly isn’t used to “entice” anything. Esp considering the other features that paying members get. Including ability to upload pics, have your own e-mail, freely message other members, etc.

It exists. It is being retooled. Keymaster is a busy man. As are the people who HELP him on this site. This is not his job, and it’s not the job of the people who help him. By you becoming a paid member, your payment covers having your own e-mail (which Keymaster has to register himself) and the rest cover the various expenses of the site (from which you benefit from the ahem… benefits)

YES Thank you for staring this thread.

The live chat is a #2 priority right now and we wanted the new chat mechanism with Zoom and hangout integration live on SATURDAY.

However….

We have a new #1 priority as of last Monday

A major development we have just figured out is more significant at the moment. We have attached it HEAD FIRST and full speed ahead and hope to have it totally sealed by Tuesday evening with a big announcement on Nov 1.

So we pushed the chat update to #2 on the list of priorities.

Please understand we are SWAMPED in deadlines right now. Especially coming into the holiday season. There has been such a major backup in emails to respond to, new members, submissions, requests for media kits, and all kinds of stuff…. and we are not a big / major / operation at all.

We ask for your patience and everyone should know we are doing everything wee can. Between now and Tuesday night, we are 100% focused on this new development. PROMISE it will be worth it.

Otherwise . . . for chat the Zoom meetings are continuing as normal and please proceed as you have been. This seems to have done very well so we are adjusting to this as an alternative to the “typing” chat mechanism.

More on this ASSP. After Wednesday, we will resume the chat page update in time for the weekend.

I will be joining the Zoom chat this weekend and announcing the latest developments. Looking forward to it!
