Do homes in Florida not have lightning rods?
From my states fire marshal, there is conflicting evidence as if they work.

Florida not have lightning rods?
A lot of property seems to be below sea level where Pete lives, so lightning rods would be inserted into the water table. No too effective that way.
So we need a bigger target. How about a 100 foot flag pole?

Some years ago, I had a lightning strike come down about 75′ from the house. The EMP blew the internal modem board.
