I don’t think that it will happen quite like that. They will outlaw single men and women for a time, as they do with adoption, but eventually, women will claim that it’s unfair to force them into using their own womb to have a baby outside of marriage. So it will open up to single women (and men to appear fair), but there will be a significant cost to it. It’s the cost that will most likely make the different as they will find out a way to claim women can qualify for subsidy but men can’t.

Although it may be that this new way of birth children requires DNA from a man an woman, so the male DNA donor will be expected to pay child support and such even though it’s not what he signed up for. If a man chooses to have a baby on his own, the female donor will retain the right of motherhood any time she wishes…at which point she’ll get majority custody and he’ll have to pay child support.

They really need to do this in a way so that the child only has the genetic makeup of a single parent without any concern of side effects.
