Thanks, I am checking it out now. I have noticed since joining that many threads seem to get left behind as there was no update as such to them. So hopefully this will conversations going a little longer.

It would be extremely cool to incorporate this and make a hybrid on the Forums index page that allows you to switch like that between FORUMS / TOPICS / REPLIES / LATEST / POPULAR etc all on the same page… but we just wanted to get it online for anyone who wants to see the very latest so it’s a separate page right now.

That we can’t control. Interest level, happening to see it, even time of day plays a factor in that. We can’t FORCE people to reply to EVERYTHING. But we do have “topics with no replies” for anyone who wants to look through those. Creating a new topic actually less time consuming that reading one & composing a reply . This is why it’s important our users SEARCH for a topic that may already exist so they don’t over create too many that readers just can’t keep up with.

Perhaps everyone can understand now why we placed maximum priority on the SEARCH feature the other day – and why it took precedence over lost threads.

Which kind of brings me to a question about the formula used to search for threaded discussions. I have used it several times in trying to recall quotes to no avail. Furthermore, I can find “post”.. but no actual threaded discussions.

I usually resort to using advanced google searches with moded parameters to find what I’m looking for.

Was there a search feature faq that I missed? Can you point me towards it?

Funny, isn't it? How women thrive on a mans time, attention and resources, while simultaneously telling him he isn't enough...

@binary… I didn’t thank you properly for your previous very kind and supportive message. Appreciated.

    Regarding SEARCH…..

When the results give you a reply, you click on the title and it takes you to the single reply where your search term exists. There is a trail of breadcrumb links just above that which indicate you are reading a single reply and the thread it’s found in is one link before that.

So you’re looking at a single reply within a topic, then from there you can go back and read the conversation if you want.

So it gives you NEEDLES within a HAYSTACK.

The haystack (topic title) is easier to find because each needle (reply) is within a haystack (topic).

Was there a search feature faq that I missed? Can you point me towards it?

No it should be intuitive and if it’s not, we should make it more so. But you’re looking at the default behavior.
Any other questions? Feel free. Happy to help.
