I have never found obesity attractive. Only unhealthy in all aspects. Emotionally, mentally, and physically.
A few pounds (5-20lbs) over weight never bothered me, and can actually look good on some women. It totally depends how they carry it.
For me… a land whale is a person, primarily a women, that is obese and beyond (morbidly obese).
Being MGTOW doesn’t have a bearing in it. I just know I would be in hospital with alcohol poisoning, before I could get drunk enough to even remotely think that s~~~ is attractive or “do-able”

5. If a MGTOW is going to be avoiding women for the most part (marriage onward), then what does what a woman look like matter anyhow? Why does it matter what she looks like if you aren’t going to sleep with her? Heck, even if one were going to sleep with a woman, and she is attractive, what I am seeing is tons of other issues that cause red flags. Like, I see “psycho” and so on mentioned, and that makes sense, just the looks part doesn’t even seem to factor in.
6. I have to raise these thoughts and test, as questions, because if I flat out express an opinion, like saying I believe doing slurs against how women look is merely going to generate fire against MGTOW, I look like I am judging scolding and will get put into the doghouse. I have learned I don’t do that, because it only results in trouble, and out comes stuff like “Tuna”, and a bunch of other things. If you have seen what other posts I have done, you see what happens there. I write it wrong, it goes off badly, and out comes hell. So, I don’t do that. I am not going to say such an opinion either here, but I do think that with increased attention by media, and them coming here, you will end up seeing they will pick up anything and use it to score points.
7. You might want to say I have my own biases on this. I witness my father, for example, throw a lot of nonsense slurs at my mother that don’t have any connection to the real issue involved at all. My experience has been to witness doing this ends up resulting him getting more grief and arguments. I so try to get information on this, without there being flak.

The only sense of “baiting” would be in the context of starting a conversation on here, to go to some issues and make a connection between things. I ask to see what the answers are and thoughts. Maybe I get corrected. Maybe I learn something different. What I do know anyhow? I am just one guy here. Baiting would implying to do a gotcha to use. And I am not doing that.

So, there is asking and posting questions in such a way, that it can allow maximum expressing of views, without being judgmental on my part, and probing for things.

Anyhow, just my take here. So, just consider the core one about: What do looks matter with a woman, if you aren’t going to sleep with her?

I am personally for thin or proportioned. I recall learning the hard way what “Rubenesque” was when a woman said she was that before I met her. I found out it meant “thick, without curves”. That being said, if more young women understood that The Wall is there waiting for them, they might be more inclined to ameliorate their behavior with regards to divorce, hypergamy, promiscuity, etc. But they don’t.

If a woman is a landwhale, there is a lot of fat inside her.

Some things about a woman’s appearance she can’t help. Obesity is not one of those things. When a woman achieves landwhale dimensions it’s a fairly clear indication that she is too feckless to do anything about her health or appearance, and that’s not the sort of person most men would want to be with.

By and large (heh), it doesn’t. What matters is when grossly obese women demand that men, MGTOW or not, find them attractive just the same as women who actually put effort into maintaining their bodies. That’s just another example of women refusing to accept any consequences for their poor life choices and expecting men to accommodate them. And THAT very much is an issue for MGTOW and any man with a little common sense.

If a woman is fat and happy and accept full responsibility for her weight and pays for it entirely herself, it’s not a problem. But honestly, how many of them are really like that?

Except that’s not really what “rubenesque” means. Rubenesque women DEFINITELY have curves. It generally means at MOST 10 kg. or so extra weight, generally in the hips. Look at the paintings of Rubens to see what I mean.

When a woman incorrectly describes herself as “rubenesque” she usually means obese.

In the end we all pay for the mistakes we make, the cost of obesity is high and I don’t think we have yet seen the monetary cost here in the states , it’s going to get worse. In the schools I see recess being taken away more and more. Kids expected to sit for 8 hours a day and learn to take a test, then a study comes out that says sitting all day is bad even if you get an hour of exercise a day. Then some school systems takes out physical education and expect them to sit more. I saw a picture a while back showing kids participating in PE back in the 50s compared to a pic today and it was freaking scary how far we have fallen.

Looks matter only insofar as identifying what each individual finds attractive but they also serve as a possible indication of what the person is like. Some books you CAN judge by their cover.

Yeah this is the big one, really, and ties into their whole appearance, not just weight. I can understand fighting against some society norms, like a woman refusing to shave her legs or underarms. Personally I find the presence of such gross, but that’s largely a cosmetic issue. I get it, really. If men don’t have to shave women don’t want to shave either. But a woman can be clean, groomed, and full of self respect whilst strutting about with hairy legs all day long. She’s making a statement, for whatever reason.

But what does it tell you when they’re extremely overweight? What does it say about the person when her home is filthy or her teeth are rotten? The opposite is true as well. There’s probably some underlying mental or emotional issues going on. Or there may be some personality traits involved that you just don’t want to deal with such as pure laziness, sloth, gluttony, etc. Or maybe they have a medical condition. Who knows. But whatever the case may be, its usually not someone you’d want to enter into a relationship with.

On the one hand, it really doesn’t matter. On the other hand, for me personally, its about being told my views and opinions about fat people are wrong and I should be ashamed of myself. That’s really what it boils down to if I’m being perfectly honest here. And by fat I mean obese. 20 extra ponds? No problem. 100+ extra pounds with no medical condition to cause that? Yeah I have a problem. So no, it doesn’t matter what she looks like, as long as she places NO expectation on MY behavior based on HER appearance or behavior. I’m not going to go out and stand on a street corner and hurl insults at overweight people. Nor am I going to explode in anger if I get stuck sitting next to a 300 pound man or woman on an airplane. But the notion that I ought to just accept their appearance as beautiful, attractive, and BETTER somehow than an athletic 120 pound woman is right the f~~~ out of the question.

Fat women have no more right to judge men for not thinking their attractive than men have a right to judge women for thinking short men are attractive. Well, actually, that’s not entirely true since a man can’t help being short (born that way) whereas a woman has the option of doing something about excessive weight.

But this is one of the reasons MGTOW get flack: We say what we’re thinking, which is rare in face-to-face encounters these days.

You f~~~ a fatty one night cause you’re drunk, horny, and she flat out offers. The next morning you do the walk of shame to your car, trying to avoid chatting with this chick. Women don’t really want to know what men think about them. They say they do, but they don’t. There is overweight like over 80kg
There is fat over say 100kg
Then there is land whale

Thanks. I had been working on a better way to do posts, without it getting out of control. Idea is to try to do things that help, without generating needless arguing. I do believe, in the journey, old patterns can continue. For my take, I would consider a more Red Pill version of MGTOW to not factor in how women look at all. I had one form, I am playing around with (I suggested MGTOW 3,0) where you remove all unique attributes of women when dealing with them, and see them for whatever personal utility they have in all other areas. This environment is more egalitarian than than the faux egalitarianism feminists call for, and you cause them to have no fodder to be attack, because you lay a groundwork down where you are operating under what they say they are calling for, and it exposes it. With this also, I get things I need, and offer them no meat. And I get on with my life. So, with this framework (it is theoretical, and I have no idea what hetereosexual man can do this, but I know Stardusk spoke of Intellectually Induced Asexuality), you end up not seeing all that stuff the PUA community focuses on at all. You can coexist with minimal problem, and if Feminists go off on you, they expose themselves to have an agenda which is not what they say. This going off will be because you aren’t marching with them, or wearing their label. Odds are the worst you get is a slur or two, or if you have a popular YouTube channel, you will end up getting attack videos made.

I am theorizing on this as an approach to maximize gain in life and minimizing the downside. Unlike the MRAs, I don’t need to fight anyone, which is what I am after.

So, in short, I look to treat women as human beings, without regard for their sex/gender and evaluate them based on the merit of their character, and also what they can provide me personally of value. It is all about personal gain for me. And doing this, I hope to starve the battlefield of ideas of material that can be used to take shots. Like, I am now seeing Meninism being turned into a weapon against the Manosphere, because it had been used as a weapon against Feminist. That is how the game works, if you care to fight, and try to win arguments against those who oppose you. As they get smart, they will adopt your weapon of attack and use it against you. For myself, I see that is why you see a detachment concept in MGTOW.

Emphasis mine. Here’s the problem with that: its not a level playing field. You’re assuming all women treat men as human beings. This is not the case.

You can look at each individual woman with a critical eye, determine if she has any value or can add anything into your life, and attempt to make a decision, but the reality is women present themselves completely differently pre- and post- relationship. There are numerous posts on these forums where you see men leaving a relationship or marriage and describing this fact. Whether it’s post-marriage weight gain, intentionally getting pregnant and then filing for divorce, or an increasing list of demands that grows unbearable over time.

There may very well be women out there who view men as equals, treat them with respect, and aren’t simply out to shape them into their perfect ideal of what a man should be. But the odds are against any of us to find such a woman. Box of snakes. Half are non-poisonous. Worth it to reach inside?
