I couldn’t help but rejoice though. She hurt me so badly. She was so evil. I thought about revenge so many times, but had faith that it would come back to her somehow.

My faith is strengthened now.
I think that this is a sign for me to follow the righteous path and fear no evil because good will prevail in the end.

The longer I rejoice in her suffering, the more evil I become.

Well I’m not going to deny you a moment of schadenfreude, but if I had to guess, you’re more relieved about not being her boyfriend at the moment and therefore not feeling obligated to assist her with her medical expenses than actually joyful that she’s in pain.

Well, maybe a little bit joyful. I still have visions of one of my particularly vicious exes falling off something high or catching something bad.

In any case, yeah, you dodged one. Even more to the point, if she’d been with you rather than that dink she’s with now, maybe you would have told her stupid broke ass (see what I did there?) not to climb that latter in the first place.
