Let me see… so they get married, have a baby, get divorced, have to go back to their part-time jobs, live in their parents’ home and scrimp and scratch for survival.
Well, living with your parents is not uncommon in Japan, even for married couples and older single people, so let’s call that one par for the course.
But the rest… this is how divorce is SUPPOSED to work. To suggest that women are somehow supposed to be immune from economics and should have the ability to not develop a career, get married, push out a baby and then live comfortable lives at home without working while depending on the resources of a man is the most UN-FEMINIST thing I can imagine.
Ladies, you wanted equality… so stop expecting us to carry you across the finish line. You want to be like men then do what men do… work your way up from whever you start to a place where you can take care of yourself your entire life. And if you want to have children, wait until you can afford to take care of them on your own or simply don’t have them.
“But men make babies too, Son!” I hear you saying. Oh do we? Find me a man who said “Honey, I want us to make a baby.” and I’ll tell him that he has to take responsibility for it. You know what comes out of men? Bombs. When a man drops a bomb, does his wife have to stand up and take responsibility for his decision to do so? I dare say not. And believe me, while we’re at this, your children are doing a lot more damage to the world than our bombs. But I digress.
Women of Japan (and America) listen here. If you want to avoid poverty, control your biological urges, use birth control and do not make babies. For the record, I support abortion in provable cases of rape and incest so you have no excuse. And if your faith prevents you from having an abortion, put your kid up for adoption and let someone who can prove they have resources and aren’t s~~~ty people raise it for you.
TLDNR: Single motherhood is an almost guaranteed road to poverty, dispair and social disorder and if you choose this path, the consequences are 100% on you.
