Richard is truly a guy because I trust @keymaster when he says that he is. Richard this was a basic AMOG(Alpha Male of Group) post. Basically: I see this as wrong. So should you. I already do. Thus I am superior. Its a beginners mistake to try to gain popularity and part of unplugging. It’s a conditioned in society of gaining reputation. It will not work here. It may not be what you intended. But that is what it is. The time right now Richard is not focus on any other MGTOW. The time is to focus on yourself and be selfish. Being selfish where you are right now is the right thing to do to get by. It’s time to “Man Up” to yourself. If anybody else tells you to man up you tell them to f~~~ off. We may have been put into a society that does not respect us. But that doesn’t mean we cannot become great men who overcome such odds. If you need help say “Guys I’m going crazy about so and so.” We will do the best we can.

I am working on it, and plan on working it.  I am not seeking status, just competency.

However, I do have an interest in getting clarity, and if I can get useful insight I can share with other men to help enable, and empower, I see that as a good thing.  What you said is an end I have in mind, at least to be able to stand on my own in things.  I need to get more things to do with my time actually.  Well, I press on.

I think I am seeing things realizing how deep the rabbit hole goes, and am going “Damn!” when I see it, so I post observations to see if I am not the only one seeing it.  Ok, I think I get it.  I eventually don’t need to do that.

Having a woman on your arm means absolutely nothing to me in regards to status.

What others think is their business but I will not allow it to sway my values.

Paying for someone to be with you, whether it be a social prostitute or real prostitute, simply for status is out of the question for me, I am just not concerned that much with what people think.

Each to their own, of course.

Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.

I managed to drop a letter by mistake and rephrase a sentence and then things went south.  The mess got cleaned up on here pretty much though.  Apparently what was meant as a question about social norms, media spin, and what guys do that impact other guys, ended up with a questioning of my gender.  Well, it is past.  It happens.

And I need some sleep. Sheesh… getting a life would help to, as would doing what I said I would :-P.

Seeing women as objects of status or empowerment is contradictory to MGTOW obviously but also plays into the hands of women. Women like to think of themselves as objects of beauty and that they are sought after by men. It doesn’t matter how much of a Feminist she likes to think of herself as, unless she is a Lesbian she will enjoy the attention of men.

The best thing we can do is take that away from them by not using them as such.

As others have pointed out, any man with a woman on his arm especially if she is “hot” is putting up with a lot of her s~~~ to keep her there and is also most likely paying her in some way to remain there as well.

That was a line of thinking I had in mind when posting the thread (and having it derail on me).  I ended up misphrasing some things, and the idea of the social accessories is probably more of a fiction and celebrity thing, they do with the media, to show how much of a “real men” they are.  The social accessory one is what I had in mind regarding music videos.  You have the “real man” rapper, or singer and he has the women around him in the video, because he is a “man’s man” and not gay.  I tried to make mention of the Most Interesting Man in the World ad, for the spots where there are the women with him (I was NOT trying to say about everything else, which seems really MGTOW to me).  PUA uses this also as marketing, the women around him.
