Confused with;

Macho-

Adjective -having or charactised by qualities CONSIDERED manly, especially when expressed in an assertive, self conscious and dominant way.

So from what I can make of it is that –

Masculinity, simply exists by virtue of being male,
factually correct. If you are a male you will posses charactersics that demonstrate you are in fact male.
Unless of course you take steps to alter your gender identity.

Macho – is opinion based hence my highlighting of the word ‘CONSIDERED’. It isn’t factually correct but based on what the observer observes.

You can’t help but be masculine simply because you are male.
But you can exaggerate your masculinity by attempting to be macho.

I think that Cu meant “traditional” in a sense that “in the old days” our real masculinity was admired, promoted and not stepped upon.
