Thanks for this quote, as it sums up for me the position I would have been trying to explain. To further that analogy: I didn’t respond to that survey because I didn’t want to interrupt my dancing in order to spend any time trying to help that person adjust his hearing aid.
I don’t really believe that he can’t hear the music. I don’t really believe that he has no idea why a man would go mgtow. The divorce rape culture is too well known. It’s too widely publicized.
It’s too common knowledge. I suspect that the real purpose for him doing a survey on why a man would become mgtow is that he is trying to understand where are the landmarks along the path that led us here. My experience with social researcher types is that their motivation for trying to ‘understand’ someone else’s behavior better is always so that they can use that knowledge to either predict it better (and thereby be in a position to profit from it), or to use it as a basis for forming a strategy to control it better (and thereby be in a position to profit from it).
What will he do with it if a couple hundred mgtows respond and give him a clearly delineated road map of the landmarks that led us to this path? Will he use it to help other men see and navigate those landmarks? Or will he, and others he profits from publishing it to, use it to figure out how to better conceal those landmarks from other men?
I became mgtow because I realized early that I was an attractive target. I never considered myself particularly attractive. But it was clear to me that my ability to perform and produce resources made me a very desirable target. Successfully trapping, harnessing or otherwise controlling me to the point of ownership of the products of my labor and abilities would be enormously profitable for anyone who succeeds in doing it. That was clear very early. If I went to dinner with a woman, I was expected to pay. But it was only one dinner and I could decline to go. If I marry one, I am expected to pay for every dinner and I cannot decline. She can divorce me and use the government to still force me to pay for her dinners, and I cannot decline. I have not found a woman yet who has succeeded in convincing me that she is trustworthy with that kind of power over me. I’d sooner hand a machine gun to a monkey…
Responding to this survey may give the surveyor some better measure of understanding into the road map that leads a man to be mgtow. But what will he do with that understanding? Giving someone the ability to understand your decisions gives them the power to predict your decisions, and possibly the ability to better form a strategy to influence or control those decisions for their own benefit.
So my question here to the surveyor is: Why do you want to know? And, how does it benefit me to expend the effort you seem to require to help you understand me and my decisions? To the surveyor: You have asked me for my input because it is of some value to you. With what are you offering to reciprocate that transfer of value?
If he wants to understand why a man would become mgtow, let him learn the way we did. Let him go and marry a woman under the system of western laws, and father a child or two with her. She can demonstrate for him the reasons for becoming mgtow FAR better than anyone here can explain it to him. When she and the courts are done with him, he won’t need a survey to understand why a man would be mgtow.
He’ll understand it clearly enough to write articles explaining it, rather than an article asking for an explanation…
