An eventual lack of children would be a societal problem: societal problem must be collectively discussed, the problem must be collectively recognized, the responsibilities must be recognized (each side have a responsibility when there’s a social problem), the solution must be collectively agreed: with each person have to be willing to sacrifice something.

So: no. If there’s a problem (and I don’t think there’s a problem, there are even too many people on this planet) then men aren’t going to save the world this time, the solution must be discussed and collectively agreed – a one-sided solution would be against equality.
