Careful 007 she doesn’t lodge a bullying claim – that’s how operate nowadays to try and cast a smoke haze over their work inefficiency.

    This.

Get the girl 2 write ups. One for taking to long in a cigarette break, one for disobeying a direct order in returning it within a couple of minutes (be lenient 2 minutes is fine since she promised 1 minute).

    Also this.

You need to document her behavior thoroughly and establish a paper trail with HR immediately before she does. Don’t mention her s~~~ty attitude at all. Stick only to the bare facts of her s~~~ty job performance. Emphasize how her behavior is impacting the productivity of your entire department and making you risk deadlines etc. Get corroboration from your coworkers who’s work is also affected by her fecklessness.

My job is as good as it sounds and, as you all can tell, I get a great deal of satisfaction doing it.

I won’t lie about it though. It’s a lot of work. Long hours, weird shifts, dealing with all sorts of people, and the necessary documentation is damn near overwhelming at times.

Documentation is the key. We get away with a lot because we’re outsiders, but our results depend completely on the documentation of what we find. The people getting axed cannot raise a stink because their incompetence is fully documented.

It’s hard to argue that your dismissal wasn’t for cause when your ex-employer has extensive documentation compiled by independent outsiders which prove cause.

Once upper management agrees to the metrics we’ll be using, the process cannot be stopped without them paying substantial penalties. Often times it’s large shareholders and others on the corporation’s board which being us in. That occurs because sometimes when the problems lie with the very people who brought us in.

Sometimes the advice in our reports are completely ignored, sometimes that advice is only partially implemented, and sometimes we’re able to do what we were brought in to do.

Whether we’re ignored or heeded, whether we’re able to fix things or not, the job is always fascinating for me.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
