I was studying to be an aerospace engineer to earn a high income to provide for a family I was told I was going to have according to my parents, as seemingly finding a woman and providing for her and the inevitable kids was my goal.

However following my realisation (granted my story and the red pill moment as you can find in my story /forums/topic/my-story-9/ ) and where I suceeded I gave it up and became a gardener. I am now 2 stone lighter and losing weight every month and getting into great shape doing what I really love. Sure I don’t earn a bazillion pounds a month but I go to work, I enjoy it and I go home. That works for me.

Anyone else had the similar result?

Love your post, I have a doctor friend who loves gardening and is more proud of his gardening than his profession. Love your introduction as well, there is nobility and a simplicity that is so admirable in the profession you have chosen. I don’t know who originally said it but I love the thought that happiness for a man is contentment.

I’ve had two patients in the past [one made $750K & the other made $1M per year]. Both of them woke up every morning and absolutely dreaded getting out of bed because they hated their work. They felt trapped by their wives, children, private school tuitions, lifestyles, income, etc. One of them confessed to me he really wanted to be a landscape architect and work outside .
I wish you continued success in doing something you love.

Gardeners are badass. I respect them as much as I respect tradesmen. I actually went to school to get my degree in computer science. However, it’s been a year since I graduated and I haven’t found any sort of job at all in my field I went to school for.

I’ve seriously been thinking about becoming a tradesmen. Most likely in welding. Those types of jobs are tough, but I love learning about those trades and I’d love to be in an apprenticeship.

Corporate environments are great for the pay, which is the only thing that appeals to me in those types of jobs. Otherwise, they freak me the f~~~ out.

My natural environment is more like a tradesmen environment. I love wearing informal clothes and just getting dirty in a job. It keeps you active and healthy.

Far too many people are separated from physical activities now a days. And they wonder why so many westerners are obese.
