Anywhere between 3-6 hours, I have accumulated so much ‘sleep debt’ over the years that I will never ‘pay it off’.

When I am VERY tired I go with 8 hours, when I save up my energies I can do with 6-7.
I rarely sleep 3/4/5 hours when I am too concerned about things/have bad dreams and I wake up in a bad way.

A few years ago I had serious problems sleeping so went and saw my GP. He prescribed what he said was a “mild” sleeping tablet. That night I ended up sleeping for nearly 20 hours straight, slept through my alarm and missed work. Never took them again.

    Around 6-7 usually.

I sleep 8+ solid hours maybe one or two nights a year.

Usually if I wear myself out at the gym, my body automatically needs more sleep and I just go with it. An average night is about 5-6 hours. Any less and I get noticeably irritable. I do make a point of taking a power nap – just long enough to fall asleep for about 10 minutes. In the grass. On a bench. At home. Even in the car. It’s like a second wind.

Argh, you just reminded me of the pain of sleeping with a woman.

I never had this problem because I can sleep through a world war.
But once I’m awake, I can’t fall back asleep again.

    About 6 hours. I’ll do a 22 minute power nap around 1PM.

Anything less than ten hours, and I get cranky.

But internet means that usually it’s about seven. So I’m cranky.

An average night is about 5-6 hours.

Wow, no wonder you’re p~~~ed off all the time; everything makes sense now!

About four solid, as wife keeps moving or getting up, going in and out of the room, etc… Every time she goes away I sleep 8 or 9 like a rock.

Argh, you just reminded me of the pain of sleeping with a woman. The rolling around, snoring, getting up to go to the bathroom, the waking up 3 or 4 hours earlier than you would and making noise all morning. Also the different bed times meaning that she would come in later and wake me up – I used to have the worst sleep in the world.

    F~~~ it was torture.

Now I spread out on my king size mattress and get a solid 9-10 hours of sleep, no interruptions. Meanwhile my colleague sleeps on a single mattress with a bipolar girlfriend who wakes up in the middle of the night with manic episodes of crazy. On other nights she abuses him relentlessly until 3 or 4am.

I would NEVER tolerate that in a million years. My first ex ended up snoring like a pig at nights, it was horrific. I lost count of the amount of times I smacked her in the face with a full swing of my pillow yelling at her to shut the f~~~ up.

I’d always wake up cold because the fat c~~~ would pull all the blankets onto her side, and one night i was so fed up with it i used both of my feet and shoved her in the back out of bed. The fat land whale got stuck in the gap between the wall and bed screeching like a f~~~ing retard.

    Never again.

Hearing a woman snore is a massive turn off and revolting.

I’ve no idea how any of you guys share a bed with a woman. To me, thats HELL.

I think those lunch time/noon power sleeps are important. Theres been several times I’ve been hit with a sudden sleepy as hell spell and had trouble staying awake at lunch time at work. I really needed a power sleep and i would have been energised for the rest of the day.
