Was just wondering how you all disconnect / go your own way as a MGTOW?

In addition to my full-time job, I personally:

    – Am starting my own brewery (a major time sink)
    – Am learning to play guitar
    – Go Bicycling
    – Cooking (have always been good at this)
    – Motorcycling (started 5 years ago, already ridden over 40k km)
    – This and other forums
    – Read books
    – Have joined the local town council

To be honest, it’s pretty easy as all my friends have gotten married, so I never see them (and never will again until the divorces start rolling in).

    How about the everyone else?

I get away from all negative and toxic influences in my life. I feel better because of this.

I believe in constructive hobbies. Everything builds on greater goals.

Meditation and developing patience and mental disciple. This helps with self-control and be aware of the world around me.

Self improvement. Reading books, listening to audio, watching videos, and constantly learning. This can overlap with the other three.

I look at things in a different way than most people. I believe in reincarnation, so I look from that point of view, of not just this life but any future lives I may have. So, I also work to improve my soul. Though, I am not talking about going to church. I am talking about my personality. Being kind, but firm about my believes. Being willing to walk away, but also defend myself if needed.

Basically, I try to avoid problems, but I don’t allow problems to walk over me, when those problems find me.

    GUEIRILLA MARKETING

Not a bad idea at all. Well, I got “Bluffer’s Guide to Marketing” in my shelf at home. Quite a small book maybe but strong enough for me in this bluff ridden world. By the way Stealthy, I don’t recall you ever defined (your) Stealth. That would be interesting to know as an inspirational idea to probably not only me but others, too. My own definition is as follows: Blend in as much as minimum necessary, but then don’t blend in any further or even go against the grain any more than as far as it’s making common sense, as long no one gets (physically!) hurt & that’ll be just fine.

So basically grounded on that scheme, I keep both my ears and eyes peeled at full attention to my personal perceptions nearly at all times, whilst I keep walking on this my stealthy mgtow road that I have chosen. And hence my disconnection is a gradually happening continuous merry (rather than marry) process…

I get away from all negative and toxic influences in my life. I feel better because of this.

Oh yeah, that certainly is a given, same here, Faust.

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC

I am focusing on my current hobbies and need-to-do activities. Focus has solved so many of my problems that I cannot praise it high enough. Pay attention, that is the secret of “disconnecting”.

    Pay attention!

    Pay attention!

    Pay attention!

    Edit: Allow me to elaborate.

Let us say you are welding two pieces of steel. What happens if your attention lapses? Do you lose the bead? Do you have to cut them apart and start over?

Let’s say you are making a basket ball throw or a soccer kick. What happens if your attention lapses? Do you choke the play??

Let’s say you are driving your car. What happens if your attention lapses? Do you hit the stopped vehicle in front of you?

Let’s say you are in the woods. What happens if your attention lapses? Do you get hopelessly lost? Does a large predator get the drop on you?

By “pay attention” I mean treat every event in your life — no matter how trivial — as importantly as you would a major task which the slightest distraction could ruin, but your total commitment will bring to your advantage.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

If by learning guitar, you mean you’re a beginner, feel free to ask me questions about guitar playing. I mostly only play classical anymore, but I can help you regardless of your style of choice.

I like to disconnect away from it all with several slices of pizza, an ice cold diet soda and an artsy “just post 1969 Woodstock” cultish movie … tonight … Vanishing Point 1971 🙂

    Just . . . wow.

    Thank you.

Wrote the whole thing down in my journal / log book.

I usually sit at my desk.

The desk is becoming the modern day throne. Got rid of my couch and TV. Moved my office/study into my LR so I can spread out.

Gin and tonic. 1 stiff drink relaxx. 2 and I’m swimmy…

Fire up the vaporizer with some high-grade medical. Will never use combustion ever again. Highly recommend. No laziness or brain-fog.

Meditation & yoga. No Zeus or Allah here… I worship myself.

Lots of reading and informational videos/documentaries. Learning about the world, learning about investing, learning about history, learning about the future, learning to program. Information is power.

Project. I have a huge ambitious undertaking that will take years to accomplish and grow. Think Big. Think long-term. Think.

Not my property... Not my problem

I disconnect with hobbies and interests. Martial arts, meditation, cooking, hiking, videos and video games, books.

One way I particularly enjoy involves working out with martial arts, meditating, then cooking a delicious meal and sitting down to eat it while watching Youtube videos.

I’ll venture a bit further and say there’s a fine line between un-connecting, and disconnecting, although I might be splitting hairs, you decide.

I find that disconnecting (for me) ends up with me being unable to feel joy about doing things, whereas un-connecting leaves me open to do what the f I want, while still being full of joy. For me this is an important point. I don’t want to grow old and bitter, I’d rather grow old and crazy but be completely joyfully happy about that. The motto I think of is:

If someone has a problem with what I’m doing, it’s their problem. So long as I’m happy with my choices, that’s all that matters.

    All great ideas here.

For me, I’ve gone “ghost” (very little on line presence, only what needs to be)–get RID of Facebook–it’s a time killer/drama/b.s. machine. No one will even know you are off of it and it removes the unnecessary mental clutter. Do a total house clearing on who you associate with. Those who aim to bring you down or cause any problems are promptly dismissed. You cannot believe how much joy removing a few oxygen thieving assholes from your life can bring. You don’t let trash be thrown about your house? Why let an asshole in your life?

Hobbies: I’ve played guitar for years, have LOUD ASS rock band (wonderful release to gig out), target shooting, currently reading several different books, hanging with supportive, good friends (we have a blast) and even dabbling in 2 foreign languages—and yes, video games are better than ever.

The point is to find what moves you and to hell with everything else. This may raise some hackles, but I’ve recently discovered that I’m Agnostic. I don’t think mankind is capable or able to understand God–it is beyond our comprehension. The more I’ve gone to church, the more I simply don’t agree with what’s being taught and the cognitive dissonance that permeates the whole of it is just staggering. With all the ability mankind has achieved on so many fronts, we’re still following written/rewritten/translated/retranslated words from a culture that doesn’t exist anymore, by people who basically lived in caves, and organized by an Emperor and council to reign in the savages. Bronze age mythology that has become very gynocentric in the last few years. I enjoy thinking and analyzing on my own. Funny thing–I have more inner peace than I’ve had in years.

Lastly–just ignore women. If a 5 year old came up to you and insulted you–would you care? Heck no. That’s how a view women, like a whiny, gimmegimmegimme, rotten 5 year old. You go do YOUR thing, bro.

    Pay attention!

    Pay attention!

    Pay attention!

This reminded me of the birds trained to call to attention in the opening of ´Island´, by Aldous Huxley

“Attention,” a voice began to call, and it was as though an oboe had
suddenly become articulate. “Attention,” it repeated in the same high, nasal
    monotone. “Attention.”…
…”Attention. Attention,” the voice insisted—how strangely, how
    senselessly!

Going off into adventures into the unknown by myself.

If stuck at home I jump on one of my old computers that’s not plugged into the internet and just enjoy whatever I have stockpiled there.

Aside from one or two other forums, this is the only one I spend any time on anymore.

One project involves the level editing tools of a video game.

Basically I have eliminated all the drag anchor people out of my life. Haven’t heard from facebook addict in 2 weeks and quite frankly sailing off into the sunset without him was the right choice. He didn’t comprehend or respect the fact that things have changed.

I deleted all social media, keep my mouth shut at work and do my best to avoid c~~~s as much as possible. I am not hurting anyone yet females/feminists keep shaming me because I refuse to be slave and give a female all my resources. The more pathetic thing is the brainwashed manginas who also shame me. I tell them all the time: “I don’t hate females and I don’t need a female in life to be happy”.
