    Except my experience was recurring.

The mind is capable of creating some pretty freaky s~~~. More capable than I think most people realize. I know this from my own experiences. If you research your ‘ghost issues’ with a skeptical attitude I’m sure you’ll find an explanation in psychology…

I’m staying out of this one. I’ll be outside if you need me.

    Pagan – atheist, essentially.

Religion is the most dangerous invention of mankind. Only religion gives people absolute certainty.

The explanation can be found in Carl Jung. He was a psychologist, who studied paranormal phenomena. Like Keymaster said, the conception of God can take on a whole different meaning than the “old man on a cloud” that Sunday School taught us. Natural laws and universal principles. There is a scientific explanation for of all of this stuff, but until the science is revealed it remains “magical.” Magic is only science that is not yet understood by the conscious mind.

Religion, as an organization, is an entirely different thing because they are concerned with laws and tax systems. Religions play on superstition for their own material gain and that is my beef with it. Taking advantage by playing on the paranormal, like the Wizard of Oz. Same thing with scam artists selling pyramid power or fortune telling.

I would not define my religiosity because I don’t belong to any specific but I describe my beliefs as being similar to and influenced by Taoism. I’ve studied different religions and I believe in all the religions but I also none of them at the same time.

I’m also a bit of an occultist. I know how to read tarot cards and I’m into astrology and I simply don’t believe that they’re not accurate. I’ve seen many specific predictions where I thought “no way, that won’t happen” and then exactly that thing happened. I definitely believe in the supernatural and that something exists that corresponds with what people can call “God,” “Allah,” “Tao,” (I like Tao because I don’t think “God” is a dude with a beard and I think maybe this Divine Oneness possesses consciousness but I don’t think the Ultimate, Most High is a guy in the sky and think that most depictions of “God” portray “God” in overly human-like terms- I think maybe “God” is conscious but I think “God” is probably very different than us) etc.

But I also don’t believe that “God” writes books, novels, film scripts or impregnates virgins.
