I’m not a huge fan of Harley-Davidson. But then again to be fair I’m not a huge fan of cruisers in general. I just don’t like forward controls, I like my feet under me. I’ve always ridden UJM’s, and as I get older and my knees get less happy with me I tend to ride adventure bikes. Which still have my feet beneath me but are easier on my knees.

They stopped being American when they went all corporate.

Before the Father died that ran Harley, things were going great.

When the kids took it over, they drove it into the ground.

And that’s from the old guys in the know.

There are so many other independent all american bike companies out there. The sad thing is that it the Honda Goldwing has more of a cult following then the Harleys out there.

What really did them in was when people got wind of them screwing over their workers. Then all the crap they pulled with the dealerships that carried them.

Some people just don’t understand what HD was as a Motorcycle. It WAS freedom. It was being able to cobble parts up anywhere. There was nothing special about it. And they gave you options to have your bike the way you wanted it from a nice base. And a GOOD fair PRICE.

Now its nothing like that. They Rich guy going into some Posh dealership is not getting the same experience he would get going into some greasy shop with REAL MEN working on these bikes.

When they started to go away from the PEOPLE that MADE HARLEY and ICON… They gave up what made them special.

Like I said, when the Father died, and no longer did daily operations with the company, everything else died out as well.

That and the men who made up the Spirit of Harley Davidson just died out as well.

Its sad, but those 2 cycle Bike conversions have more Spirit then some of the bikes coming of the line.

And the COST of PARTS. JESBUZ!

When a HONDA that is MADE IN JAPAN is CHEAPER to OWN and MAINTAIN.. There is a PROBLEM.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

HD has been its own worst enemy for some time now. Living on past glory, and its name. I suspect the company is done and over it is just a matter of time thing.
Perhaps out of the ashes a small back to its roots company will rise up and build great bikes.

Many years ago, I saw a review of a new HD. The engine was described as ‘agricultural’.

I agreed at the time and haven’t seen any reason to change my opinion since.

In 2009, HD stock went down to $8 per share. I wish I would have bought it then and sold it when it was $80+
