It’s been 3 years since I had a physical – late forties.
I was in decent shape last time, but over the past 3 years I’ve not let the shrew kill my mood and mojo and shifted my focus from being a slave to her and the house to taking care of myself.
Started running more (did my first Ultra Marathon a few months ago), continue to lift and added mountain biking to the regimen.
The Dr. said he couldn’t tell me a single thing to do except make sure I wear my seatbelt!
I plan on training hard for something epic and spending less and less time with her until I can get her ass out of my house and life. I’m focusing on ME and she can suck it. I sacrificed enough for her selfish ass.
You go bro !! Ultra marathon. Huge respect !! Eat and run another Scott Jurek classic.
Thanks JVB! That is the name of the book. I really liked it. Read it last summer.
Big red pill in there as well with his ex wife.He becomes friends with another ultra runner. Flys the guy to Greece (I think that is where it is) to help him train. They are supposed to be best buds, but dude starts plowing his old lady.
Scott is a kind nurturing, unassuming guy. Had a hard life where he spent his high school and college years taking care of his dying mother, and trying to dodge his fathers angry abuse. Has had to work his way for everything he got in life.
The other dude is a total chad. Born rich, never worked, narcissistic, outgoing etc. Already has a Asian wife who is basically in servitude to him, several kids, but guess who Scott’s wife is in love with?Yep, you know who it is…
You are doing good bro…
You ever read “finding ultra”? or Scott Jurek’s book?
I am not sure if they would be your cup of tea, but you might find them interesting, or you might not. lol
I enjoyed them.
“Born to run” might be more your cup of tea. It is a pretty good read.I read “Born to Run” awesome book. I haven’t read “Finding Ultra” but I will.
To your point: I run 90+% in the woods – technical, rooty, etc and once a month I try to road trip to the mts and gets more elevation and cool scenery.
Thanks for the book recommendation – I’ll download it. I kept up with Scott Jurek’s AT record run a few years ago. He’s a beast.
You go bro !! Ultra marathon. Huge respect !! Eat and run another Scott Jurek classic.
Thanks – I’ll check it out!
That’s the right thing to do bro !
feels really good when you can accomplish each kilometer ! And to run a marathon is extremely impressive ! Congratulations brother, you should feel really proud of your hard work !
Thanks- Keep up the running as well. It cleanses the soul to get out and sweat off the BS we get loaded down with every day.
Outstanding! I go in for my 2 year DOT physical in a couple months. I’ve lost 35 lbs since my last one. I’m in my late thirties and very close to my high school graduation weight.
Be careful though, NerdTunneler is right. Tingles are coming, hahaha
35 lbs! Thats incredible – you must feel like a different person. What changes to diet/food did you undertake?
