I just wonder…if the federal government legalized heroin for straight couples, would gay couples be dumb enough to fight for heroin rights as well?

I could never understood how a piece of paper with a stamp could make someone feel better about themselves or their relationships (unless you are a woman of course!)

I never understood it either, makes no sense to me.

I get the distinct feeling that all the divorce lawyers in US are going to be billionaires.

This is a golden business opportunity, you could have a front seat to the show, almost worth doing law to watch that!

Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.

Marriage is pretty much a f~~~ed up pro sports contract where a woman is a player and a husband is a team.
Now, imagine a sports team signs a contract with a player for life with guaranteed money. If a player is injured or doesn’t perform and sits on a bench – you want to release him, but then you have to pay him a golden parachute money which equals player’s share of all team’s profits earned during the contract. In addition to that – the team pays a player alimony to match player’s living standards while he was on the team. Plus, the player can take a number of other players (children) with him, and a team would have to pay player support for them, and could only play them once every two weeks.
If a player doesn’t like how the team treats him, or simply woke up on the wrong foot – he files complaint with the league to have team’s license to operate suspended.
Now, which team in their right mind would ever agree to such contract? None!

Marriages need to be like current team/player contracts – termed, renewable, with conditions and salary caps. Or better yet – like at-will employment laws we have here in MN. You don’t like something – give a two week notice and get the f~~~ out. And it also would be nice if you needed references to get into relationships – just like jobs.

marriage is just plain dumb. no matter who is doing it. wish it was only for royalty like in the past , ” commen ” people just shacked up..if it didnt work you could walk away..

I agree. That is how it should be done now. The way I see it marriage is just a piece of paper. If two people really love each other then they should just live together, treat each other fairly, and have sex. I really dont see the need for all this paperwork and modern day legalism.

I'm married to the game, but she broke her vows.

Only gay marrige should be allowed. In case of divorce, then never money or property can be transferred from a man to a woman.

So if two people of the same gender marry and then divorce does one still walk away with 80%? I bet the divorce laws will be a lot fairer and if they are then Heterosexual men need to stand up and claim discrimination.

This is what I was thinking when the court decision was announced. We all know that family courts are heavily biased in the female favor, so what happens when both are female, or both are male? It should be interesting to see how it pans out.

“Yay, we now have the right to participate in a stupid ritual that doesn’t mean s~~~, makes the government involved in our relationship, and that has no benefits, while possibly being a very painful divorce in the future! Gay marriage for the win!!”

I have a hard time not laughing at this.

Same sex marriage or heterosexual marriage?
    Same s~~~ to me.
(I wonder which lesbian goes away with half the other’s belongings when they break up, though :D)

It is a common failing of childhood to think that if one makes a hero out of a demon the demon will be satisfied.

On a game forum I dabble on occasionally, some gay guy posted…

    <h2 class=”title icon”>usa and gay marriage</h2>

Its now legal in every state!

    thank you god

    To which I politely replied…

Now this is comedy…a gay man happy about gay marriage while straight men are avoiding it in record numbers. I wonder how long it takes the gay community to realize the jokes on them…the only ones who benefit from signing a marriage contract with the state these days are divorce lawyers and women, who generally end up with custody, child support, alimony, and at least half of all assets. Should be interesting to see how it works when its either no women or two women involved in a divorce though lol. What’s worse then breaking up with someone? Having to pay a lawyer to break up with them, having them take half or more of your **** on the way out the door, and having to pay them monthly for years when you aren’t even getting any from them anymore. Enjoy marriage!

And the best part…his reply to my reply…
“Please sit your ass down and shut the hell up.I’m proud to say its legal now in USA”

It kind of remind me of a woman arguing with you.  You present them with some logic and this is the kind of meaningful, insightful reply you get in response.

I’m not a deeply religious individual, but I will have a huge problem if the government starts imposing on churches and telling them they’re not allowed to turn away gay marriages.

If they ever did that, it would be equivalent to pre-1776. Many American immigrants fled here to escape government controlled religion, and if the government takes that step it would set us back hundreds of years.

I personally don’t care if two gay people get married, as long as the church they’re attempting to have a ceremony in agrees with them.

Gays claimed for years that Christianity was an intolerant, bigoted, hate machine and now that they have the law on their side, we’ll see how the boot fits the other foot.

I shrugged when I heard the news, the only profession coming out of this deal are divorce lawyers. Your happiness has always been what you made of it, and marriage does not make a happy individual.

Obama already said in a speech something to the effect of “People will have to change their religious views to accommodate gay marriages.”

I could care less if gays get married, and I’m as atheist as they come, but that comment infuriated me.

Gays have always been able to get married. Anyone can hire some shaman to lead them through whatever ceremony they like in front of an audience and have a huge party after.

It’s just that now gays have allowed the government into the mix to enforce all sorts of unwritten mutable terms of the marriage contract they’re signing. Rules about property division, alimony, and on and on and on. So good for them! Though I have to wonder just what the hell they were thinking?

Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

I got into traffic today because of a gay celebration for the recent legalization of gay marriage. All I know is a massive bull dyke almost hit my car because she was so fat she could not balance herself. There was also a man in a rainbow shirt pulling around a goat on a leash in the middle of traffic. He had a duck dynasty beard with dick whistle in his mouth was waving a rainbow flag.

That’s about my extent of caring.

Edmont Dantes off Youtube just posted a video about this, and it seems like he was reading this topic.

The part I don’t understand is that he’s making parallels to dynamics and failure rates of traditional marriages, but say it we’re talking about male gay couple – there is no woman in that equation, so why would it be a subject to the same pressures as hetero-marriage?

Well, now there’s no excuse for them to feel “oppressed” now.

Oh, but that’s not enough!  They still say they need pride parades!  Tens of thousands flocked to the parade here in Houston over the weekend.  They now say that it’s still not enough because they can still be persecuted and lose their job, especially if they’re a “trans woman of color.”  That’s the new phrase I’m seeing going around now.

NOW they’ll be able to call “discrimination” on a Christian pastor who can’t allow the marriage in his church.  I agree, hire some shaman or another religious group to do your ceremony, not the pastor of a religion that doesn’t allow it!  I know most of these idiots are just trying to “troll” Christians, but seeing pictures of them pretending to be a “gay Jesus Christ” yet not going anywhere NEAR trying to offend Muslims and Mohammad (the religious group that is ACTUALLY killing people like them) is obnoxious and unnecessary.

I’m not so sure about that. The first amendment says otherwise, and the media promoting this tomfoolery waste of time depends utterly on the first amendment.

That’s the way I’d HOPE that things would go, but seeing how the federal government is now involving themselves directly with no chance of Congressional interference, I worry just a little bit.  Hopefully the First Amendment stays intact.

Here’s an interesting article I found:

Don’t know if it’s true, but damn.

Not sure where you’re going with that. Congress IS the federal government.

Hopefully the First Amendment stays intact.

It’ll hold out until the Second is eliminated. Then all bets are off.
