I assure you, my response wasn’t that dissimilar to the one you mention, in respect to minding their own.

I remember the “Blue Laws” when I was a kid back in the early 70s. One could not even buy toilet paper on Sunday at least in Georgia, no s~~~. Diarrhea on Sunday morning and no TP. WTF??

Well I didn’t know better, but you have to admit that this law is stupid enough to where not everyone (obviously) wouldn’t know better. But is also hard to know better when the liquor section gate was wide open. I mean how could I of known? But still to force religious beliefs down anyone’s throat in the form of law is just wrong. I don’t believe in religions, so why should I have to obey a law that believers makes us live by.

Did you read the posts before yours? It’s the law. She would have been fired for selling it before noon. In fact, with modern ‘cash registers’, I doubt she could have sold the beer the beer if she wanted to.

It probably depends on your local laws, but no. The law is typically that alcoholic beverages cannot be sold during these hours, it’s not that they can’t be accessed. If a store does this, it’s probably for the convenience of customers so they don’t pick something up and get embarrassed or p~~~ed off like OP did, when they try and buy it. Personally, I wouldn’t close the alcohol section down as I’d keep non-alcoholic mixers and other bar related products in the same section, which can be purchased at any time.

Blue laws are left over from a age gone by. They use to be much worse. If there is a statistical reason for it, since it’s shown to cut down on drunk driving, then I don’t care. But some blue laws are unrelated to alcohol though. I remember when certain retail stores were not open on Sunday. To this day, car dealerships cannot be open on both Saturday and Sunday. I image the only reason it’s still around is because dealerships don’t really care that much.

Next time, buy your beer on a Saturday evening and it won’t be a problem. I hate going anywhere on a Sunday and will only do it if necessary. Part of the reason I stock up on beer and food over the week and leave my weekends to more enjoyable pursuits.

In most states there is actually a posted law regarding consumption on premises. The bars got that one passed because they didn’t want competition from parking lot drinkers getting their beverage cheaper.

OP, blame the c~~~s in City Hall or your state capitol. This girl was doing her job, and competently.

Registers at all of the big box stores flag the sale by UPC and won’t allow it to go through.

There are many times that men here are righteously indignant, this isn’t one of those cases. I work the overnight shift and I’ve had to wait until after 7 to buy my beer on weekdays, but on Sunday it’s Noon. That requires either better planning or just taking a day off to sleep instead.

I failed to realize in my youth that I was the prize. I was going to work. I was going to earn. Little did I realize that due to feminism, that no longer meant I had to share. Road soon, Desert after.

Seeing as you’re dimwitted enough not to be aware of your own state’s liquor laws, you most likely don’t realize the law enforcement agencies in your state send undercover operatives into stores like the one you’re bitching about to try and purchase alcohol without proper ID and outside of sales hours. If they’re able to make a purchase, the store is fined heavily and the clerk is fired.

No clerk is going to let some moron too stupid to read the f~~~ing signs buy alcohol outside of sales hours. Your convenience is not worth her job.

God knows I’m no fan of women in general, but bitching about some woman just doing her job because you’re too f~~~ing stupid to read the signs and know the law is going too far.
