Feminists and Social Justice Warriors Are Killing The Comic Book Industry

You don’t have to be a fan of comics to know that feminists and social justice warriors have been doing to the comic book industry what they did with video gamers: ordered them to start making “politically correct” comics or continue to face a torrent of criticism from the feminist and social justice warrior groups calling the comic book industry sexist and racist. Marvel and DC – or, “The Big 2” as they are known to comic book dealers – have largely given in to the feminist and SJW crowd, making female characters of classic male characters like Thor, and using lines in comics like Wonder Woman where she accuses male villains of “mansplaining”, and then the villain is punched in the mouth. Now, Marvel and DC are facing a big backlash in sales, as they are largely driving away their loyal customer base in order to appease feminists and SJWs.

The problem is that no matter how much these feminist and SJW wankers bitch about how comics are written, they DON’T make up anywhere close to a majority of comic collectors. These “politically correct” comics that they have so vocally said need to be created, are not selling. They’re not selling because the people who make up the vast majority of comic collectors have no interest in these characters, and feminists and SJWs don’t buy these comics. Sure, they might buy a couple of issues just to hop on the bandwagon for a short time, but the sales are dropping with every new issue.

When I was visiting a friend in Chicago, there was a couple of really cool music stores that specialized in jazz, blues, and soul music. The shop owners told me that stores that sell largely sell those genres are the ones that stay in business, because people buying pop music have little interest in buying physical copies and just download mp3s. What if they turned around and started cutting down the genres they specialize in to sell more pop music because some SJWs said they needed to fairly represent all genres? Their sales would fall big time because their loyal customer base is not interested in those genre. Every music store that relied largely on pop music sales is now gone, because the vast majority of pop music listeners don’t want to spend 10 or 15 quid on a CD or record when they can download the tune (which they will most likely no longer like 6 months down the road because it’s no longer the “in” thing) off the internet for nothing. Marvel and DC are literally on a path of bankrupting themselves, because they are giving in to a group of whiny brats who don’t even represent their customer base.

I was a major comic book collector between the ages of 9 and 16, and occasionally like stopping in a shop to look for older issues of classic series that I collected like The Incredible Hulk and X-Men, so I’ve not really been in the loop about how much everything has changed, and I have watched many of the movies – BUT there is no doubt that an increasing number of comic book dealers are saying that Marvel and DC are now digging their own graves by ignoring their customer base in order to appease feminists and SJWs. I’d hate to see those iconic companies die because of a bunch of whiny feminists and SJWs, but if they don’t wake up and listen to their customers, they are going to “go the way of the dodo bird”, all for the sake of appeasing a group of conceited brats who don’t even buy their product.

I didn’t know girls even cared about comic books. Oh I see, once they were already popular with guys, THEN girls wanted in! They did the same thing with video games. Now you have all these gamer girl frauds that are just pretending to like video games because it makes them more popular with guys. It also helps when they reveal lots of cleavage because it’s not like they have any skill.

I’m trying to stay in hobbies that will hopefully stay male for the longest period of time. Try shooting. They haven’t f~~~ed that up yet.

However, now I can’t pick up a shooting/survival magazine without some t~~~ in it or on the cover. Because, you know, women are so interested in that……

Honestly, the thing is that the issue is not the characters themselves. It the lack of plot and the lack of respect towards men. SJW politics is always “in your face/you suck men”. That is the problem.

SJW try so hard to state how they are so much better than men that they forget they suppose to be telling a story.

To that end, replacing characters simply for social reasons are poor reasons.

Now, replacing a character with another for a genuinely interesting story is completely different. Some of the best Spider-man storylines happened when Doc~~~ highjacked Spider-man’s body.

And Spider-Gwen is a wonderful alternate universe flip of the script for the Spider-man methos. Where Gwen got bit by the radioactive spider and Peter later died.

Also, all female super-teams can work. But, all teams, no matter the gender of the team members, the personalities of the characters in the team cannot clash. There has to be chemistry between the team members.

A good example is Volume Two of the A-Force comics, which has an all female team. Good plot, good characters. And the characters had chemistry.

Also, Volume One of A-Force, during Secret Wars is a good example of how to do a strong female culture right. Arcadia was not a island of amazons. Instead, the story showed that men were treated fine on the island city, it was just that the super-heroes were female instead of male.

Now, if storytellers want homosexual characters or transgender characters. Make original characters. Such as Sara from the Angela series. At least she knew the subject matter of what she was complaining about. The characters were interesting in that series. The artwork was gorgeous. It was just the pacing that sucked and got that series canceled.

The point is if one wants to tell a good story, no matter the gender of the main characters, one cannot insult the audience. Part of telling a good story is for the audience to develop an emotional connection to the characters in the story, which insulting the audience destroys.

Now, I am not worried about the female Iron Man matter. That is one series. The other series has Doom puts on the Iron Man armor. I believe Doom pulling on the Iron Man armor might be interesting. Doc~~~ did wonders for Superior Spider-man.

I will let the comic sales decide the verdict. But, Doom has enough of a background to pull it off. While having a new character just come in, is smarter than everyone else, built her own powerarmor as good as Ironman’s armor, and is allowed to use Tony’s toys without question. That reeks of that character being Mary Sue.

Yep, and the worst part is that they can’t even create anything original and make it a success. As usual, they have to go around creating female versions of popular male characters (just like they did with Ghostbusters), and any attempts at new female characters will often be Mary Sue characters (characters who are basically perfect at everything, and master everything with ease). Women are basically admitting they can’t come up with anything original that is interesting, so they have to rehash male characters like Thor or Iron Man.

Actually you know who the biggest consumers of Manga style comics are? Women. You see there is a subset of manga that women can’t seem to get enough of. Its called Yaoi. In short its about gay men. Its written and drawn by women. They can’t get enough of gay male porn.

Manga is like that. They have action comics oriented towards men and women draw their own comics for women about gay men. Women don’t try to draw mens comics because they will simply fail miserably. Manga is not PC or SWJ. The manga market is totally driven by what sells and they give a big middle finger to PC and SJW’s.

Now being that Marvel has Political Correctness and SJW’s up the ass. I fully expect to see Steve Rogers laying a lip lock on Peter Parker and everyone is gay or trans. I also expect their profits to crater and the corporate structure to implode as everyone looks around asking “stupidly” why is this happening to them. Then they will blame it on Trump.

You can make something politically correct but, for now anyway, you can’t force people to buy it. And that is why they will always fail.

Too right. For years on end, women generally showed no interest in the comic world. In fact they kept insulting it. They said it was nerdy.

So why the hell should a certain business cater to a group that not only doesn’t buy their stuff, but actually puts it down? How is that common sense?

Now that women have infiltrated the culture, they’re suddenly acting like they’ve always liked it. Challenge a woman about her interest and she’ll say, “What, girls can’t like comics too?” as if you’re the stupid one for asking. Essentially, we’re expected to forget about the dozens of years that women have spent saying the exact opposite.

Imagine if a movement of men decided that they liked ballet. If they began storming into dozens of classes, declaring that the dance wasn’t catering enough to men, wasn’t giving us enough male role models in the field, and was generally discriminatory because its most famous icons were women. In the process, they started demanding that ballet change its rules to become more male-friendly, and even insulted its core audience by pointing out women’s physical shortcomings when they engage in it. What do you imagine women’s response would be? Perhaps, “Well OK, I guess that the sport has been a bit one-sided…”

Agreed. The times of Stan Lee and Bob Kane are slowly fading away as we introduce new swap-outs that add nothing interesting, and can even detract, from the material. The last straw for Marvel comics and I was when Captain America said “Hail Hydra” and Iron Man became a 15-year-old black girl.

Why can’t people make their own superheroes and supervillains and add new things and stories instead of swapping out people to fill a status/racial/gender quotas? What happened to that? I was find with the vast amount of X-Men and X-Force characters created, but for them to change them to fill an agenda? Bulls~~~. I want off that ride.

The thing is, I would not surprised if it was Tony Stark and Peter Parker that locked lips. Those two have had this strange on again off again friendship thing going. It is very weird. And very odd.

It is not like the usual go out, have a few beers and share some hobbies friendship. It is Tony inviting Peter and his wife (at the time) Mary Jane to move in with him in his tower. Tony then created a powersuit for Peter. The Iron Spider.

Even though their friendship fell through.

Tony goes through more women than in the phone book. But, there are jokes in the entire franchise between him and Steve. But, there is a few jokes considering Tony and Peter.

And Tony and Peter did kiss, it would complete the Tropic Thunder/Satan’s Alley joke. Bwahahahaha!!

I agree…but the reason they won’t come up with new s~~~ is because they’d release some new character…say 15y/o black girl “Iron Man”, and it would sell about 8 copies and get canceled after a month because nobody would buy it. If they instead replace Iron Man they think it’ll stick based on it being the Iron Man franchise.

Apparently its too hard for them to figure out that is just like saying I love getting burgers at Five Guys…but if Five Guys suddenly said we’re going all vegan and serving only veggie patties, I’d never go back there. I’m not going to say well its Five Guys and I’ve enjoyed them a lot for the last few years…so I’ll just keep on going even though I don’t like them anymore…hell no, I’m going to find another place I enjoy eating at and go there instead.

Sad thing is I was talking to a gay neighbor of mine the other day who was bitching about them turning a Star Trek character gay recently rather than coming up with something new. Its kind of sad when they do s~~~ like that to appease gays, and even gay guys are like come on, can you cut it out with that s~~~ already?
