Female who failed FDNY fitness test injures self 10 days into the job

I posted a topic a few months ago about a female who would be graduating from the fire department training academy despite failing a critical fitness test multiple times. I was shocked to see this story pop up, as it’s a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT person. Just how many of these “priority hires” are coming out of the academy and will be responsible for saving your life?

Welp, turns out those fitness tests weren’t just a tool of the patriarchy to oppress women and keep them out of the fire department after all. Turns out they were important gauges of physical fitness to see if your body can cope with the stresses of fighting fires and pulling people out of buildings. She broke her foot during a “routine equipment check”…what do you think your odds of survival are if she has to carry your unconscious body out of a burning building?

The “judge” (and I use the term loosely) named her a priority hire due to “past experiences of discrimination”. Well, maybe…JUST MAYBE…it wasn’t discrimination. Maybe she’s just a s~~~ty out of shape excuse for a firefighter.

If you live in New York, invest in a fire extinguisher or three. The FDNY won’t save you.

She got a judge to order her hired?!? What the- pinch me! She failed all the tests and still got to be firefighter? What’s next? General?
Getting off the truck, Doirin-Holder missed a step and landed on her left foot, suffering a fracture, sources said.
Can’t even get off a vehicle properly and that wants to extinguish blazes and save lives? Can she even save herself?!

I get that injuries happen, especially during training. Lord knows it’s happened to me. Thing is, if you meet the physical standards it usually means you’d be able to recover from such an injury and would be back to work soon. If you only got hired because a judge said so, I highly doubt it.

I was applying for a state position 6 or 7 years ago that had a physical test as part of the application testing process, and part of it was something in the ballpark of a 300m sprint in a minute or less…basically not a very tough run for anyone in halfway decent shape. They’d send you off around the track in groups of 4 or 5, and as you crossed the finish line the guy running that portion of the test would yell out your time to you…basically every group was the same…48 seconds, 51 seconds, 52 second, 55 seconds…good job, you all passed. One group had a short fat black woman…the first few people crossed the line….49 seconds, 52 seconds, 54 seconds. Then we waited, and waited, and waited, and wondered how the f~~~ she was only halfway around the track. We waited some more…finally, here she comes…59 seconds!

Affirmative action in practice, isn’t it great! So much for white privilege, white people weren’t getting cut any slack lol. I can even understand some women are desirable in law enforcement type jobs as it can be a liability at times for men to handle women in some situations, but there were women there who could make the standard. It was such bulls~~~ giving this woman a free pass, and I suspect she did equally as s~~~ty on all other portions of the test.

According to the various news articles, she, or the others like her, were given FDNY desk jobs while their lawsuits progressed. Without ever riding a fire engine or responding to a call, they already been cashing big fat FDNY paychecks for years thanks to their pussy passes.

So you can be hired due to “past discriminations”? then there should be men who should be earning more than they should now.

We are talking about safety here and a human life – what kind of judge makes a ruling out of “discrimination” instead of capability?

About 15 years ago, in the City where I live, a few c~~~s sued the Civil Service commission claiming that the agility test to get hired for the Police Department was discriminating towards women. One of the tasks was to scale an 8 foot wall. None of the women who applied could complete the task and were rightly failed. They sued claiming that the agility test and that section in particular was discriminating towards women and that actions such as scaling an 8 foot wall were never encountered in law enforcement. They won and were offered jobs on the Police Department as part of their settlement. 2 of them are still on active duty today. I would also like to point out that several MEN failed that section as well but were not offered jobs.
It’s just one more example of how the bitches want the money but they don’t want to do the work necessary to earn it.
