The workout with this extreme heat here has been insane. I bike ride with no shirt on in 105 heat index since last Thursday. I drank 3 bottles of water with Amino Energy, and I sweated all 3 bottles on my shirtless body. Even my shorts were completely soaked. My body was so very wet, I looked like I jumped into a pool and didn’t dry off. When I got home after 3 1/2 hours in 105 degree heat biking, I got very sick. What remaining bottles of water that didn’t sweat out, was puked out along with the energy. Every day since then I’ve been out several hours in VERY hot sauna-like heat biking shirtless, and even get caught in a pop-up thunderstorm when I got to the train station, which had a bench with glass walls and a ceiling. I thought with all that sweat and puke saturating my skin all over I thought I had lost weight, but when I checked the scale, it still reads 252 pounds. I didn’t shed a pound. I’m like “oh really?!” Several hours of steam room like weather biking for about 20 miles, sweat out several bottles of water, and I didn’t lose a single pound?! I was amazing I was able to do what I did. Hell I decided to do shirtless bike rides every day for the remainder of the summer, because I love it. I maybe a few pounds overweight, but I like go out shirtless, and people all around me don’t seem to care. In fact, there’s usually a half dozen or so guys shirtless biking also. So no awkwardness.
That’s the only workout I’ve been doing. I would go to the health club, but this time of year, I like to do more outdoor workouts. Speaking of workouts, I have a set of resistance bands my mother bought me for Christmas (2014) plus I bought 2 stronger ones. I keep promising myself to workout with them, but every day, I do the bike ride and when I get home, I like to crash in front of the news, or computer and dry my sweat off.
Speaking of intense heat and humidity like Chicago had the past 5 days, I could live year round with that. I’m not a winter type. I can deal with 90 degrees better than below 0 and snow. Although I do wear my shorts in the house in the winter, letting my plasma TV heat my room up.
That Amino Energy I’ve been taking really does work. Before I used to bike ride to my local library and back (2 miles) and I would crash and die on my bed after I got home. But since the Amino Energy, I’m going 3+ hours biking, in VERY HOT humid heat, sweating like I jumped into a pool, eat just 1 meal after 10 PM, and I can stay up not tired for an extra 10 hours until 5 AM. Seriously, I thought those supplements were suppose to take time before they actually do anything.
As far as you trying the CLA Core by MusclePharm, I suggest do it, try it for a while and make your judgment on it. I think the reason why my weight is dropping because the CLA Core has killed my cravings for soda. I haven’t drank a single can of soda since late May; I drink just flavored water, milk, V8 juice spicy low sodium, and on Friday – Sundays each day I drink a bottle of Coors Light. So the CLA Core and Shed Matrix I see does do something, but it takes like 2 weeks before your body starts responding to it.
Another supplement I take is Dymatize ISO-100 cookie and cream flavor whey protein shake. I like to put in 2 large scoops in with a blender of frozen blueberries (meaning, no ice needed), milk. Very good.
I look for deals on eBay for my supplements:
ISO-100 cookie and cream protein – $29
CLA Core MusclePharm 180 capsules – $22
Shed Matrix MusclePharm 120 capsules – $22
Amino Energy any flavor – $18
I never shop at GNC, because the price is doubled or sometimes tripled of what it is on eBay. Why should I spend $70 for $30 protein powder? It’s a no brainer there. As far as the Amino Energy goes, next time around I’m going with blue raspberry; the blueberry mojito was a little on the sour side (taste like vitamin water), and it’s sweeter. I just wonder what that energy stuff will do for me the next time I go to the gym; usually I do a few workouts and I’m beat, but if I can do hours of bike riding in the conditions I’ve been in lately and stay wide awake an extra 10 hours, I should be lifting like I’ve been doing it.I think I’m done rambling on. I didn’t know I was going to be talking so much.

I work out with injuries so most of the stuff in a gym is off limit anyway.
Anonymous7Dude f~~~ supplements. Its a money drain the fitness industry milks people all you need is food and water. If you really hate eating protein bars can supplement and the ONLY supplement 100 percent worth your money is creatine. I dont take it anymore because Im more into bodyweight and that stuff puts alot of water weight on you. IT greatly increases your strength though. And I have bought my fair share of stupid f~~~ing supplements let me tell you but Im over it now.

Ye GNC is a joke.

The ones I take worked for me. I lost over 10 pounds since starting the CLA Core and Shed Matrix, which also got me away from soda. The Amino Energy keeps me going an extra 8 hours. I used to get dead tired and nap after biking to the library and back (2 miles about), but since taking the Amino Energy, I’ve gone over 20 miles, sweat like I jumped into a pool and didn’t dry off, and I still stay awake an additional 8 hours. The protein powder is ISO-100 cookie and cream, and even if it doesn’t work, it still makes a good milk beverage. So to me those supplements DO work; at least for me. Even though I’m still 70 pounds overweight, I can feel my muscles in my arms growing, my chest is rounding and my stomach is slowly flattening. So they work for me.
Besides why would gyms sell it if they don’t work? At my gym, I see college-age guys that are all jacked up buying 5 pound buckets of stuff.
Again, I avoid GNC, because who wants to spend $70 for something you can get the same exact thing on eBay for $30? It’s no wonder why GNC no longer exist out here, considering I’m in an upper middle-class town where people make about $100K a year on average.

I guarantee you would have similar results with no supps, but hey do you

got damn thats hot, you sir are a trooper. Bike rides are a fantastic workout, keep it up. What kind of bike street / mountain?
My body was so very wet, I looked like I jumped into a pool and didn’t dry off. When I got home after 3 1/2 hours in 105 degree heat biking, I got very sick.
Yah man that feeling is the worst, hakama+gi+bogu for 2.5 hours annnnn I’m soaked. If you’re only drinking water you may want work some Gatorade in there. I’ve been having problems overheating and damn near ready to fall over towards the end of practice. Kept thinking it was my conditioning but turns out I was guzzling too much water and not getting any electrolytes back. Gatorade helped but too much sugar so I’ve trying pedailyte. Its for kids but has about double the electrolytes and no sugars. Still experimenting but I think that may do the trick.
I thought I had lost weight, but when I checked the scale, it still reads 252 pounds. I didn’t shed a pound.
Don’t focus too frequently on weight, it fluctuates depending on water weight/food. I usually do monday morning and friday morning. Remember its a marathon, not a sprint, takes time.
That’s the only workout I’ve been doing. I would go to the health club, but this time of year, I like to do more outdoor workouts.
Enjoy while it lasts, old man winter is a mean sob.

Bands are a good to work in. Do you have a set schedule for what you do when?
Speaking of intense heat and humidity like Chicago had the past 5 days, I could live year round with that. I’m not a winter type. I can deal with 90 degrees better than below 0 and snow.
Though I could do without the cold, the summer can be more brutal. You can always layer up when its cold, can only take so much off when its hot.
Another supplement I take is Dymatize ISO-100 cookie and cream flavor whey protein shake. I like to put in 2 large scoops in with a blender of frozen blueberries (meaning, no ice needed), milk. Very good.
How thick does that come out? Fruits A+

haha yah I remeber stoping by one couple years back to grab some amino and it was no joke 2x more. F that noise.
I think I’m done rambling on. I didn’t know I was going to be talking so much.
Its the internet man, everyone rambles ^_^
I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
I bike ride from 4:30 PM – 7 PM every day for 6 days a week, except if it rains. And even if it’s not 100 degrees like it was for those few days, I still NEVER wear a shirt. I go out bare chest, covered in sweat. In fact, except for when I go places, which is rare, I haven’t really worn a shirt all summer. Day and night, no shirt, not just bike riding.
I drink a bottle of water mixed with blue raspberry ON Amino Energy before I leave, and another one half way through when I take a break at the train station watching the trains pass by. I hear Six Pack Shortcuts say that Gatorade is something to avoid, because it has sugar in it.
Well I’m finally under 250 pounds. It’s the first time since early 2012 when I was prescribed Risperdal, and it made me go from being stuck at 215 pounds in February 2012 to 250 pounds by the end of the month and it’s been a serious bitch to get rid of this weight. At least biking and CLA core is working. Even in the September 2015 (CrossFit athlete hero of mine Dan Bailey is on the cover) of this CrossFit magazine called THE BOX, says that CLA Core does reduce fat. I believe that it does since I’ve lost 15 pounds since being on it, and with the bike riding, my legs look better than normal; it’s from the waist up that needs some serious work on.
This summer has made me do mainly outdoor activities. I haven’t been there since July 8th. It’s been shirtless bike riding every day except Saturdays and rainy days since. When it gets regularly below 60 degrees, I’ll be putting my shirt back on and maybe head to the gym more often.
No I don’t have a set schedule for the resistance bands. I have a set schedule for biking: Sunday – Friday (except rainy days) 4:30 – 7 PM, and that includes a half way break at the train station watching the trains pass by.
Yes, you can layer up in the winter, but I don’t mind taking articles of clothes off in the summer. Why do you think I haven’t been wearing a shirt about 95% of the time this summer? I’m not the only one out there that does that. Along the bike path other guys are jogging and bike riding shirtless also.
The frozen blueberry ISO-100 protein shake comes out VERY thick. I don’t use a straw. I use a large spoon to scoop it out. It’s a bag of frozen (meaning, no ice needed) blueberries or strawberries, milk, and 2 large scoops of the powder and it comes out very good. I don’t taste the powder if it’s just 1 scoop, but 2 scoops brings out the rich flavor.
For those who argue about protein powders not working, I will argue that it does work, at least for me it does. Before I was fat in the arms, and since taking supplements and bike riding, I can see slowly my weight dropping and my deltoids to my forearm muscles are starting to show, and all I do is bike ride and never get the motivation needed for weights or resistance as I want to do.
It’s no wonder GNC is no longer at my mall, but then again about 95% of my mall is vacant. No one is going to pay twice for something they can get elsewhere. I mean I bought my 65 serving ON Amino Energy (blue raspberry) for $37 on eBay, but at GNC, that’s the cost of the 30 serving. I mean you’re spending twice as much at GNC than eBay. So I go to eBay for my supplements, but I go to Muscle and Strength and look up reviews before committing to a buy or trial period.
Like I said, I go out shirtless bike riding 6 days a week. It’s no wonder why my back tire and pedals are in the conditions they’re in. My back tire wobbles and my pedals don’t feel right. What’s to expect for 3 years of a $90 Wal-Mart bike? Next bike I invest in, it will be from Dick’s Sporting Goods; too bad Sports Authority is gone, because I rather go there.

Hot damn man, thats a lot of riding! Keep that up as much as possible, great for burning cals.
Protein powders are great and perfect way to hit your cal goals. If people understood how much protein they would need to eat a day they would have a better understanding. Instead the fall into the naturalistic fallacy.
I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
One of my goals for this new year of mine is to melt out 50 pounds of ugly body fat and jack myself up to look like a Marine or pro wrestler type, and those supplements I’ve been taking the past 3 months are showing progress, even if it is gradual.

Have you been logging pictures of your progress? Best way to see, just make sure it’s the same spot with same lighting.
I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
No. I don’t put pictures of myself along with my name (except job apps) online anywhere. I’m the shy type. I deal with enough trolls without showing my appearance to more trolls.
I do however have a large collection of pictures of myself shirtless with or without my Conan sword or FX lightsaber, in my boxers and fully nude, but nothing goes online. Only I can view my images. Nobody else but me.

I meant for your self, no need to share or post online. Not a big fan of pictures either but to track progress it’s better than just having the weight data point.
I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
Either way I don’t have progress pictures. I just look at myself from before and I look in the mirror now and do comparison.
