For those who like to workout, what are the things you enjoy doing? I like to do:
Cable crossover
Bench press
Lat pulldowns
Tire flipping, pushing, pulling
Bike Riding
Resistance Bands
Rowing
Punch the punching bag
Pushing weighted sleds
Leg press
Barbell bicep curls using the 2, 2, 4 methodWhat I need to work on is my abs, because there’s too much bulls~~~ there, and I want badly to get rid of it.
I like to be able to do what the two marine guys in the video below are doing, but I don’t have a tractor tire, a sledgehammer, sled, or ropes.
By the way, I like to have a body just like the young marine in those videos. Trouble is, I’m 33, and he’s 24, and I have a long way to go, and by the time I get there, I’ll be that old man: age 54.
What sort of workouts do you guys like to do?

Hey, I’m 53 and am in pretty excellent shape. I mountain bike a lot, practice yoga, do a s~~~-tonn of pull ups and hit the squat rack three times a week. That keeps me in good enough condition to not be ashamed to be seen with my shirt off.
Dude, I just started a topic. .
Ripped.
I try to turn everyday activities into exercise. .
Money is tight so I don’t go to a gym. .Situps with one of those inflatable b~~~~, pushups.
Sixpackshortcuts is a rip off, sorry.

Krav Maga.

If I had to pick just one it must be the barbell squat. I just love squatting. Also, overhead/military press, bench press, deadlift. I have had a lot of success with the standing overhead press. I know some people don’t overhead press for various reasons but it works for me.

Get a few kettlebells and work out from home. I go to the gym, but I also have some kettlebells at home.
Bodyweight exercises with some dumbell work. Getting back into it again, though can say from experience that if you train consistently and eat plenty (myfitnesspal.com for logging calories) then you will make progress.
Courage is the key to life itself - Morgan Freeman
I like to be able to do what they did in the first video I made here, because I think I’d enjoy tire flipping, ropes, sledgehammering a tire and pushing a weighted sled. I looks like fun as much as it is challenging, and I can time myself.

Looks like your still have a hunkering for the cross fit non sense. Why not find a useful activity and train in that? Did you ever look for a kickboxing place?
Fix your diet and the abs will come. No amount of ab workout is going to get you ripped. Have you logged your calories and tracks your expenditures?
33 y.o.? I’m a little older and in excellent shape. Age has f~~~ all to do with getting in shape. Sure it gets harder but it’s not some impossible feet.
I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
Those people in the video weren’t doing CrossFit, it looked more like they were doing a drill Marines do. And you can see when they both took their shirts off in either video, they don’t look like whatever they were going had bad results.

I heard in another video that the only way to lose belly fat is to fix the hormones testostrum (I know I spelled that wrong), and lepton. Then again, it could be a guy trying to sell me something, because that video was an advertisement.
I mean I do eat better, but my body fat refuses to go down. I do take CLA and Shed Matrix to reduce fat weight. So far in 3 weeks, I’ve only lost 7 measly pounds. I hope when I start rucking, which I’ll do my first in a few minutes now that my rucksacks are here, it helps.

Yeah, well, I want that 24 year old body I should of had 10 years ago. Not to sound gay, but I like to look something like the young Marine (Austin) in the above videos. I’m the kind of guy who wants to age slower and keep his youth as long as possible. I’ll be 34 in 2 months, and I have the pot belly of a man over 50.

Regardless of fitness categorization, why would you want to be able to do that? Personally I see it as a wasted effort just to look cool. You’d be better off starting kickboxing / strong lifts.
Fat loss is a marathon, not a sprint. Stop beating your self up and setting unrealistic goals. Aim for 1-2 lbs max of weight loss a week by eating 500-1000 cals less a day. If you want to track your results start using a calorie tracker. It will show you real progress and help you make any necessary adjustments to your diet. Plus when you do get to where you want to be, you’ll have all that data to look back on.
Pot belly shmat belly. You’ve got time before your test levels drop, he was most definite trying to sell you something. See a doc if you really feel you have low test levels but chances are you’re fine.
Patients my friend.
Side note: look up stomach vacuums if you haven’t already.

Well I did a workout yesterday for 3 hours and I really feel it. I did just finish my homemade frozen strawberry ISO-100 protein smoothie; 2 scoops of that.
I don’t know what this one is, but the weight plates are on one side of the bar, and you’re stomach is pressed down on a 45-degree bench like, and when I tried it, I stomach suffocate. Speaking of a suffocating stomach, I don’t know why every time I do any of the ab workouts I saw on YouTube, my breathing is cut off, and my legs are sore doing them. It’s my belly area that I need most work on, since that’s where most of my extra weight is.
Speaking of supplements, I taste tested something call Amino Energy the strawberry-lime flavor (tasted like bubble gum though), and DAMN that stuff is very good. I’m about ready to make a decision if I want to get the blueberry Mojito flavor which is like $17 for 30 servings on eBay. If I have another day like I did Tuesday (where I couldn’t get awake all day and night), I definitely need that stuff, plus it would help get me the energy needed for the workouts. I’m kind of sluggish. So the supplements I’m taking now are ISO-100 protein, CLA Core and Shed Matrix, and so far, there has been some slight weight lost, but not as fast as I would like.
Yes, I have started rucking. I did it once so far and it’s not as easy as it looks. It was about 90 degrees, humid, and I tried for a mile to do it, but my back proved to me, that too needs work. I thought taking off my shirt would help keep me cooler, but that rucksack scraped me up good in my lower-right back. I put 2 10 pound plates in the bag. I did choose 2 good looking sacks; an ACU digital camo, and army green. I wanted just one, but I couldn’t decide on one of 2 colors; so I went with them both.
Anyway, it’s basically from the waste-up that needs more work done, since I do all my leg workouts bike riding and rucking 2 hours a day when it’s not raining.

I like amino engnery, good stuff and not too pricey. Just don’t let the scoop count get too high. Less is more.
If its your mid section that needs a trim you really gotta count the calories to start. It will be easier as you know the actual numbers. Have you checked out any food loggers?

I have the blueberry mojito flavor. It wasn’t what I was hoping for. It tastes a little sour. So out of three flavors I tried (strawberry-lime, blue raspberry, and now blue mojito), my favorite is the blue raspberry. The strawberry-lime I mistook the flavor for pink bubblegum. I won’t throw away the blue mojito, because it’s still OK and I need it, and I really will later this week, when Chicago gets near 100 degrees with heat indexes forecasted to 115. I was hoping the blueberry mojito flavor would taste more like blueberries than sour grapes.
I’ve seen stomach vacuums done before, and I don’t know how sucking in my gut will lose my gut.
Speaking of supplements, I don’t know which one it is (CLA Core, or Amino Energy) but it’s making me p~~~ more. I drink a bottle of water, and I’m p~~~ing out like 3 bottles worth.
I do however watch and download a lot of YouTube videos of workouts and nutrition advice every night. I watch channels such as: Scott Herman Fitness, Six Pack Shortcuts (Now called that but …Abs After 40) and Buff Dudes. I find them important as well as entertaining. I see and get jealous of guys who have bodies that I can only dream of; just like the young marine in the first video on this topic.
By the way, why does it take you so long to respond to my posts here? I know you’re on this site more often than that.
https://themanszone.webs.com/
I never tried that flavor, strawberry and lemonade were my go to’s. I found the blue rasbury too sweet.
115!?!? F that man, I’m dying in 90s. Is it humid there?
Stomach vacuums won’t be the only thing to do but if you think you gut is protruding forward too much, this will help with posture more than “abs”.
I can not stress enough, abs are mostly diet. Forget ab workouts, focus on core strength till you loose weight. Once you can see the abs then start doing ab workouts.
Videos are a great place to start, there is a lot of info out there. Always check sources or check else where to confirm, I’m sure you know how much misinformation is out there.
My apologies for the slow response. I’m on my cell phone 99% of the time here so it’s a bit rough with quoting and long responses. No internet at home and using the work computer to browse this site isn’t smart. I try to wait till I can tether the laptop and respond easier. I do save all emails till i respond, deff wouldn’t forget about yah bud. I realize my advice is all over the place so if you have any qs feel free to pm me.

Forgot to add, how do you like the CLA your taking? Never heard of it but looked up and it looks promising. How long have you been taking that?

It doesn’t have much a flavor. They’re soft gel capsules. I take 2 at a time either before a meal or before a workout. According to the reviews, people say it DOES take off fat weight. I’ve been on it since mid-June. It does make you p~~~ a lot. I drank a bottle or two of water, and I’m p~~~ing out a gallon. The CLA I’m taking is from MusclePharm and it costs $20 for 180 capsules on eBay. I’m also taking Shed Matrix also a MusclePharm brand, and I’m using it just like CLA. It’s also $20 but for 120 capsules. So far in the past month, I’ve lost about 7 – 10 pounds without much workout. It has definitely kept me away from soda and other sugars. I only drank 1 soda in the past month; I never thought I could pull it off.

I did like blue raspberry because of the sweetness. Best part is, there’s no sugar to make them sweet. If you like something sour like lemonade, then you’ll like blueberry mojito. When I tried the strawberry-lime as a sample at the club last week, I thought it was bubble gum flavored.
Yes, it’s getting humid in Chicago. It’ll be in the mid to upper 90s the next few days. I won’t be out in it Thursday evening, because I’ve been paying attention to the Republican convention and I want to hear Trump’s speech, and I might be out in it Friday when it REALLY gets hot, because I might go out for all you can eat fish fry ($9.99) at the bar; I prefer my fish grilled or lemon juice fried. Because of the extreme heat these next few days, they’re talking some possible strong storms here; something has to give when it gets that hot and humid. I just wish it would stay over 90, because I like being able to keep my shirt off while I ruck or bike ride outside, and I want to be soaked in sweat to the point my shaven chest has a shine. I can’t take my shirt off in January, and that is why I like summer time better.

Right on man, keep me posted on how the CLA works. I might give a try next cut. Deff drink lots of water, green tea is another great thing to add into your diet. I order the loose leaf stuff off line and make pots at a time / refridge. Steady caffein + antioxidants
Hows the workouts been going? Keep track of your weight? Just a suggestion but you may want snap a pic each week of your progress. When you’re at the level you want to be it be a nice little slide show of progress.
Our AC at work just went out, they wont get to it till the end of the week. It did suck this am since I cycled in. Out of sauna and into a steam bath.
