Soo…basically no sugar and no fructose? I guess i gotta stop eating my lovely golden delicious then. :/

Yes, yes, and yes again. Do what Dr. Berg says and watch the pounds fly off. Do what you have been doing up to now, and watch the results that you have been getting up to now continue on without change.

    I have spoken.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

    Good advice in this thread.
If I may add, you can also try Intermittent Fasting and up your intake of micro-nutrients, as with all things you should do some research and reading before undertaking anything (I am not a health practitioner).

Thanks for the post! This has inspired me to go back to a 5%/25%/70% carb/protein/fat diet, re-eliminating sugar and grain carbs. I suggest myfitnesspal to track your food/macros, its a free product with iphone/android app, nearly all foods are already nutritionally logged on their database and there are some handy graphs to track your progress.

I have been going at it with negative calories but with whatever I felt like eating for a while know, and whilst it eventually helped me lose 33 pounds, I have now been at a plateau for at least two months and exhausted. I have regained some strength by incorporating a mid-day nap and taking vitamins, but this video has made me remember that I have been eating poorly, days without meat or veg, and struggling to eat below my caloric level for a while now and it´s time to change.

I have switched back to 5/25/70 keto, upped my daily caloric level to it´s regular point for my size/gender and will not be using the exercise feature to add daily exercise unless I over-do it one day (especially since it does not log anaerobic exercise). I want my exercise to work -for- me, from the stability of having sufficient keto calories, and I am also partially just sick of logging every thing I do to make sure I do not undereat.

I´ve been watching these other berg videos, and this one in particular has shown me something others I know have spoken about but I have not seen outlined so clearly regarding the 8 glasses a day of water myth:

    This is actually quite interesting.

For the sake of context here’s what I am at the moment.

    188lbs at 11.1% bf at 6’4

Lift and play basketball regularly. So what was my reason for going on this? Shouldn’t I be putting on more weight? Of course, but I did this primarily for curiosity.

Went on this package from a company called Forevergreen. They have a product called my Ketopia. You get into ketosis within a few hours. Before I was 11.1% I was at 12.6%. After 3 days I dropped about 1.5% of body fat. Not that it means much to me but you get the gist. It worked.

Being on the diet though is quite interesting. Typically I’m on a high carb diet as it’s necessary for my activities. Eat every now and then. However on the Ketogenic diet I actually didn’t feel the need to eat. I did want to taste food but I didn’t need food. It was a necessity rather than a pleasing activity that stimulates my palates. Would I go back on it again? No, no need to reinvent the wheel. My previous diet worked wonders for me.

I cut out pretty much all drinks except water and the occasional alcoholic bev from my diet. I very rarely have pop or anything sugary to drink, it’s a waste of money and empty calories.

If you drink a good amount of only water daily and do weightlifting you will lose weight. Muscle is constantly burning calories and it will attack the fat in your body for energy in order to sustain itself. Cardio is almost entirely a waste. It’s good to do sprints for 5-10 minutes but anything longer than that is detrimental. Can starve your muscles and keep them from growing and most people just burned the calories they eat during the day.

Also I eat mostly fish and chicken, beans and eggs at the moment. They’ve very lean proteins that are great for you. Compared to red meat which is way more processed and hormone enhanced=bad for you bottom line. I’ll indulge in ribs or a burger if I go out on special occasions, I still need to enjoy life. The omega oils in fish are also great for the brain in addition to being a lean protein, Also beans and eggs are extremely affordable compared to other proteins. I’ve often considered going vegetarian for economic reasons.

In terms of fruits and vegetables try to have at least 1-2 a day. Almost no one gets the actual recommended amount but 1-2 fruits and then another vegetable or two for dinner is great. I like banana’s a lot because they’re very affordable and you get a lot for your buck. Plus they are antioxidants, but oranges are also pretty good loaded with vitamin C.

Try snacking on nuts instead of wrapper food, even if some nuts are expensive you’re getting what you paid for with the healthy body.

Make sure you get enough sleep your body regulates your weight while you sleep and if you don’t get enough it can’t manage properly.

    Hope this helps I’m 22

I’ve lost over 20 lbs so far on Atkins in 2 months. I’m going to add apple cider vinegar and lemon juice. I bought the handles for push-ups, do crunches, treadmill and will get that door frame pull up bar. Can’t lift the extra 60-70 lbs yet.

No more soda or sugary drinks here, now I have to cut out coffee. Caffeine is a diuretic and my kidneys are compromised.

I need a citation for this claim. I almost want to completely disagree with cardio being detrimental. It might be for your muscles if you’re not getting enough calories. Then again not getting enough calories is already detrimental.

It is detrimental to a workout though. Playing basketball and lifting right after never works. It should come after. Cardio should come after in general.

What I’m saying is nutrition is key to maintaining and gaining.
