I’m an avid gamer, but I prefer those with choices and non-linearity . So games like Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and the next upcoming Fallout 4 are my choice of games to play.

This image Lone Wanderer is the epitome of the MGTOW in my honest view. The man and his dog traveling the desolated Earth.

Fallout 1/2 were good. FO 3 never quite clicked with me for some reason, perhaps I’ll give it another chance some time before FO 4 comes along.

Always loved that image too. Looks inspired by the Mad Max 2 movie (before feminazis infiltrated the franchise).

It is a common failing of childhood to think that if one makes a hero out of a demon the demon will be satisfied.

Fallout 1 and 2 I loved (have about 3 copies of each).
Fallout 3 only after heavy modding. Before it had to many problems (especially the color palette, something very problematic in ALL bethesda games).

New to Fallout here. This new game might drag me into the series.

Red Firefly, you won’t get disappointed, as it’s the best open-world experience with lots of small missions and stuff.

CatsPaw, the vanilla FO3 is good enough on it’s own, but I added the Project Reality for the more realistic darkness, snow/rain and so on. It really oppoed out from the screen. And other mods includes more detailed textures.

Watch some of the Youtube-videos by Gopher to see what I mean. Here for Weather and Lightning:

I love the fallout series though I must confess that I hated New Vegas. I still played it to death but it just didn’t click with me.

All Bethesda games need modding. Not just to change visuals and game play but also to fix the many, many, many bugs that get released in the game.

I’m not sure how I feel about a voiced protagonist though, I hope it adds to the experience.

I completed fallout 1 and 2. Tried to play fallout 3 but wasn’t able to make it work on my notebook.
I played a lot New Vegas and found it amazing. I still haven’t completed it yet but I eventually will get to it. The game is too big, I played it a lot and I’m still far from completing it.
I have completed all DLC’s questlines except for honest hearts but that is what I am going to do next. Only after I have finished all DLC questlines I will tie the loose ends and finish the game.
I love open world games. I also love the Elderscrolls series. Started with skyrim then went after all the games and and I’m halfway through Oblivion. Morrowind is next.
I agree with cicerO when he mentions the bugs. I never buy bethesda games on consoles because they lack the console commands to fix the horrendous bugs in the game script. They really could use some more beta testing before releasing their games.

Pity and contempt are siblings. You only feel pity for those you consider weak.

    The specs for running the game on a PC (consoles are ready to go, no worries for Xbox One or PS4-gamers);

    Minimum

    Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
    Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent
    8 GB RAM
    30 GB free HDD space
NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent

    Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent
    8 GB RAM
    30 GB free HDD space
    NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB/AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB or equivalent

The DLC’s won’t come until 2016, obviously. And mods should also run on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, according to Bethesda.

And don’t forget about the Lone Wanderer’s companion:

I prefer the Elder Scrolls series to Fallout, but I still like them both. I’m just obsessed with the Elder Scrolls.

I finished Fallout 3 in 6hours (with all side quests and linear “plot” ), I cant even count it as a Fallout game with a serious face….
Maybe as a cool linear First Person Shooter with Fallout theme.
Will be very cautious about F4, will wait for reviews. Can’t trust Bethesda anymore.

Seriously? I wasn’t the biggest fan of F3 either, but it wasn’t that bad. Also, if you’re playing Bethesda for the plot, you’re doing it wrong. That’s like calling classical music s~~~ because you can’t bang your head to it. Don’t hate on Bethesda because of it. If you want to hate on a gaming studio/publisher, hate people like Gearbox or Rockstar who deserve gamers’ distrust.

Never liked F3 either, but I really loved New Vegas, though I also absolutely prefer Elder Scrolls (except that online s~~~, ES should stay offline). Anyhow, I’ll definitely get F4

Absolutely. I agree with you 100% except I’ll probably wait to grab F4 when it goes on sale (praise his holiness Gaben, he is life and love!).

I think Bethesda could play smart by releasing two types of games; a) the ‘old’ isometric game; like the two first Fallout-games to be released for the iPad (or other touchscreen PAD’s). And, b) the FPS-version for PC, XBOX and Playstation.

Personally, I would love to see the two first Fallout-games as FPS-version with everything in it. using the Fallout 4-engine. It could be made as a mod off Fallout 4 too. So, they could serve both player bases, those who like the isometric turn-based version, and those who love the FPS-version.

I’ve preorded fallout 4. I don’t usually buy games at full price, but if this going to be like skyrim was to oblivion, then it is more then worth the $90 bucks I put out for it. In case my full price comment doesn’t make sense, I’m a steam user and am used to buying games once they go on sale for at least 75%,off.
