Ok guys!!! I’d like to have some insight from you all. I am thinking of trying to experience my body to something new. Just not sure if I’d be doing more good then harm. I am thinking of trying to push my body to the max by not sleeping much at all. I couldn’t go to sleep sunday night, and ended up going to work and working a 11 hour shift. In total I had stayed up for 35 hrs straight. Which kinda got me wondering about this. Training my body to go without sleep and nutrition for a sustainable amount of time. I’m sure the military does this sort of training. Because now a days you never know. Something like this may come in handy. I have a very physical demanding job. And after busting my ass all day with no sleep I didn’t feel to bad. Plus when I did get off work and come home I only got 5 hrs sleep monday night. However I am feeling a little wore out right now. I’d just like to know if any of you guys have ever pushed your bodies to the extreme. Because like I said with the way the world is today something like doing this may give you an advantage. If it ever come down to us retreating to living in the woods. And being in survival mode.

    I don’t recommend it.

You will have a criminal conviction/record if you go around without much sleep. If it’s not running over someone while driving, you will say/do/harm someone. Sleep is necessary for cognitive functioning.

Why would you want to live with an IQ of 50? That’s what sleep deprivation would do to you. Not to mention weak immune system and hallucinations once you get > 40 hrs of sleepless state.

    Again, stupid idea.

Good point thanks for your input. I was surprised as to how good I felt after work. I was kept up by screaming ass neighborhood kids playing til 9:30. I start work at 2 a.m. So I don’t really blame the kids. It’s not their fault I gotta go to sleep at 6 p.m. I hate sleeping with earplugs incase of smoke alarm or something. But you make a good point. Plus I got a dangerous ass job also. I do foundry work. So I guess I can only be thankful for school ti start the f~~~ back up. So them loud ass kids don’t keep my ass up.

I’m sure i read somewhere that hallucinations can be a side effect of sleep deprivation. I went through a period of insomnia for a year and felt like s~~~ most of the time because of it. The only two things that gave me a good nights sleep back then was either alcohol or sex. It’s not a period of my life i’d like to repeat

One thing that i would like to do is reduce my sleeping time from 7 hours to 5 so that i can fit more into a day. 24 hours is just too damn short.

OP – what is the purpose of this?

Pushing your body to extremes just for the hell of it isn’t healthy.

A lack of sleep can lead to varying forms of psychosis and you will probably hallucinate.

You also want to starve yourself?

Is this a cry for help?

    No.
    Get sleep.
No Meth either. Rots the teeth out of your skull.
I learned while bodybuilding, sleep recovers and builds your muscles and gives your brain time to purge wastes.

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

Not saying I’m going go days without eating. Just was a thought. I was thinking of more on the grounds of eating enough to stay healthy. But kinda act as if I was in a survival situation. You know what I’m saying. Like them survival shows. Where them people go days before they find food. You kinda have your body in shape for it. Incase I would ever happen to you. I do appreciate you guys taking the time for the info though.

Sick of women f~~~ing me over is what brought me here. Just wasted 13 years of my prime life. Just to find out I was being played. And I was searching the net on finding out why bitches do that. And presto here I am. I love this site.

Ok. I’m just not sure what “extreme body conditioning” has to do with that.

If you’re looking to achieve a healthier lifestlye, the aformentioned will not achieve any of that and it offers no value to anyone here.

Yeah, I went close to three days without sleep and still went to work. I wouldn’t recommend it as you actually do and say things you don’t remember doing around day 3-4.

If you want to “temper” yourself, just get rid of the luxuries in life for a start.

    -No airconditioning.
-Only eat what you need and when (no fast food, restaurants, etc.)
-Sleep outside every once in awhile.
-Stop “trying to feel good” and when you feel like “s~~~” ignore that too.
-Hard manual labor, such as chopping and carrying wood, outside in all weather forms. (If you can’t do that, just find some way to replicate it).

Take for example, yesterday I spent all day in the “wilderness” (more of a reserve). I hunted, with a bow for my meal (ended up getting only a rabbit). Cutting my firewood with an axe and bowsaw. Started the fire to cook the rabbit with a piece of flint. Slow roasted the rabbit for a few hours. And just chilled. And it rained and was s~~~ty for the first part of the day.

Sometimes “temperance” is just getting rid of what you don’t need, and the rest comes with it.

Exactly, I practice survival skills too and besides food and shelter is adaquate rest for optimal performance.
The S~~~ Show is coming , I would be more concerned with getting your survival gear in order so you can just grab your pack, rifle and go!

Lifes a bitch, but you don't have to marry one!

Exactly….before the lightbulb our forefathers (approximately 100-150 years ago) would sleep an AVERAGE of 10 hrs per day. Sleep is a good thing and should not be denied….hell a good night of sleep is one the best things there is.

I have been thru circumstances similiar to yours.
Been homeless while doing day labor where you have to sign in at 5am just to have a chance to work. Then the work might be digging ditches under the hot sun. Then the lazy bums who have panhandled all day are drunk/high and loud.So i would be lucky to get 2 hours sleep. The self disipline required to live like this is amazing but its bad for your brain and the rest of your body.

Not something to be doing long term.

frankly my dear i don't give a damn

This whole thread is the epitome of stupidity, and I see our resident idiot who’s just written a thesis on ghosts is still marching around the forums like he’s something special.

John doe, before you chime in with a witty response – I enjoy your company haha.

O and thanks for saying my dog looks cute :).

See you on the forums, man.

    ?

Yeah there is no witty response as this being the internet, don’t understand the tone your taking….and I doubt anyone on this thread does either. We are talking about basic conditioning exercises and methods for self-control/temperance/detachment/etc. I don’t see what I have to do with any of this as there is a whole thread for my “anti-followers”.

Try the Paleo diet. Close to what our ancient ancestors ate. I tried it. Then I had erotic dreams involving pasta. That was enough and I started eating more carbs.

“Anti followers”. Who are you quoting?

Should there be a group of people who are “anti following” you?

Jolly, I have no clue what you are talking about….

I know you find my leg erotic, but just cool it. Anyhow.

In regards to the Anti-followers, I wish, that would be so cool. I don’t know if you were here the first 6-8 months when these forums started, but you could actually “dislike” someone. I think MG-TOWER was up to negative 100 for doing absolutely nothing wrong and I always envied him for it. I wish we could have sworn enemies on this forum along with followers.

How do you get in negative 100?
