    I do, but I am still un-programming…

I sometimes do, but getting less frequent nowadays, as I am in the process of un-programming 40 years of duff (i.e. old-fashioned/over-romanticised) information about love/romance and modern women, after learning the cold harsh truth about the real nature of modern women, from the guys on here.

I am learning the joy/freedom of being on my own, which is not the same thing as being lonely; I used to think that ‘being alone’ and ‘being lonely’ were the same thing, but they aren’t, and in understanding the difference between the two, comes acceptance and contentment for one’s un-attached position.

When I sometimes pine for a girl/relationship, I think to myself, “at least I’m not a slave to a girl” and “at least I don’t have some girl nagging/demanding at me”, then the desire for a girl mentally seems to go away, since it seems to be not as attractive as first perceived. Over time, I pine less and less for a girl/relationship. It also helps if you have a hobby/interest (or perhaps multiple) to keep you amused and distracted from desiring a woman. I have my Piano, which is a world of its own; so plenty there to keep me amused.

Used too. But my cats (yes I love cats and no I am not a woman) and my family is all that I need.

What people call "love" is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed. It hits hard, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage. Your parents are gonna do it. Break the cycle. Rise above. Focus on science.

Nothing wrong with cats. It’s actually a great answer to have.
