My daughter had a soccer tournament this weekend. One of the other dads is divorced and we tend to hang out at the games. He has his own construction company and does well for himself. We talk business, kids, s~~~ about women, etc. He has been divorced for about 10 years, but living with his girlfriend for 8-9 years now. Says she’s great but he’s never getting married to protect his three kid’s inheritance.

This weekend he tells me he had lunch with his lawyer as he does about once a month. He says something about this and, to his shock, the lawyer tells him that he is most likely already screwed because they have been living together for so long. So now he’s drawing up a contract that would give her some money for the time they’ve been together in the event they split up. He’s going to give it to her and say it’s a deal-breaker if she doesn’t sign.

He’s also been getting offers to sell his business and he’s considering it because he’s afraid the market will fall off again. He survived the first crash but doesn’t want to live through that again. Companies like his live off of a line of credit because you don’t get paid until the property sells. I gave him some tax advice about that. But the best advice I could give him was a red pill. “Get that f~~~ing piece of paper signed before EVER think about selling your business. Unless you want to give her half of that payout.”

A really like the dude. But he thought that all he had to do was not marry her and he was fine. He was wrong. Now it’s going to cost him in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn the lesson a second time.

She’s his “common law” wife — because vagina.

That’s a warning for every man.
    Thanks for posting
Awakened MGTOW men know in today’s culture in the US, women have the upper hand in everything.
Some things are best left alone & trust me, many of these feminazis & other f~~~ed up women will be alone in their old age with a s~~~load of frozen eggs to think about.
    MGTOW is the future

This interesting point here is that we live in a state that doesn’t recognize common law marriages. I am assuming this is the reason he can get by with offering her less than half.

Just because you live in a state that doesn’t recognize common law marriage is doesn’t mean you won’t have to pay.

So what’s stopping a judge from just ignoring a signed document during a break-up settlement? As I understand it, they throw out pre-nups all the time…

Jebus on the cross, how does this guy extricate himself from this s~~~ vortex? Does he break up with her and hope she goes away empty handed? How do you assign a value to her share of the business/extortion payment? Do you sell assets quietly and hide the results? Let the business fail?

She will suspect something when presented papers from a lawyer.

    D’oh!!!!!!!!!!!

    what is fair? $1000 a month…for 9 years? $108,000? D’oh d’oh d’oh!!!!!!!!!!!

lose $100,000 to save $1,000,000? foxes and raccoons chew off their own legs when caught in a trap.

No s~~~! I just don’t get it. A guy smart enough to own and run a construction business isn’t smart enough to see that he’s setting himself up?

His only hope for a clean break would be if she’s medically brain dead…

If you are cohabiting with your girlfriend for a long time, she is your wife. Only difference is the absence of a legal paper.

I don’t know. He may be too far gone, but he’s got to try. That part I understand.

Try $2k a month and you’re getting closer.

He’s not book smart, but he knows the construction business. And he hires really smart guys. He just thought after his divorce that if he didn’t get remarried he was fine. And he lives in a state that doesn’t recognize common law marriage, so he thought he was fine.

I just post this as a warning to any lurkers out there. If you think that living in a state that doesn’t recognize common law marriage means you will owe nothing, you are mistaken. You just won’t owe AS MUCH as a common law state.

At least he realized now, he is “one step ahead”, is too late, but at least he can try to minimize the damage. Better to realize it now, than when the c~~~ just throw the papers in your face.

Better than that, is just to avoid it at all, no c~~~ = no problems

That excuse might be legitimate 35 years ago but not today. You would have to be living under a rock to think that now…

Well, if he wants to keep his wealth, his best option is to sell the business, liquidate his assets, say “I’ll be back in an hour, honey,” and GTFO.

21st f~~~ing century, most women work and more females than males are graduating college now, and yet the f~~~ing law still clings to this notion that a man has to hand over half of his s~~~.

I think they should pass a law banning marriage… that marriage is no longer a legally recognized entity.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

The reason that still is the case is feminism. Feminism is not, and never has been, about equality. Feminism is about female superiority and domination in every facet of life. Think about it for a moment, women are given preferential treatment in practically all areas of life. Civil court is no different.

I don’t get it. No common law = no common law. Right?
Why is there a legal basis for giving your money to a long term gf.

I believe “Vagina” is the legal catch-all for absolutely everything…
