I’ve tried tinder twice, the first time I got 0 matches despite being a decently in shame young male, and the second time I literally had to use all my likes for the day to get just one match. It’s a f~~~ing cesspool of men trying to ram girls who must be averaging 10 matches a day. Men need to pull out of dating sites to boost their value with scarcity.

I think guys in online dating fall into 3 categories…

1. The guys who just don’t get any replies. Maybe they are actually creeps, or maybe they just aren’t good at playing the online dating game…regardless…guys probably leave after they’ve sent out a f~~~ ton of messages, get ignored almost all of the time, maybe get a few replies but it fizzles out and never leaves to a meeting…but I could see how some dudes just say f~~~ it waste of time after a while.

2. The guys who have some success but realize all the women on their are some combo of fatter than their pics or more f~~~ed in the head than the average woman after you meet them. I know this was the case when I tried it…I had some matches and a handful of meetings and after a while its just like yeah…most(all?) of these women are full of s~~~ in their profile I’m done here. To be fair though I’m sure the amount of guys who are full of s~~~ are what makes it more difficult for other guys to actually get dates too…women are busy shifting through 6 foot tall body builders with six figure jobs on dating sites I’m sure.

3. Guys who are thirsty as f~~~ and just don’t care.

So basically I could see group 1 and group 2 being shrinking populations as online dating really isn’t new anymore and people are seeing it for what it is, and group 3 sticking it out. Basically the 80/20 rule will apply over time…its going to be a bunch of chads f~~~ing a bunch of nasty, desperate women. I’m sure the 80/20 rule pretty much already applies it just won’t be as evident until more guys drop off.

For most of my life dating services and sites were geared around getting the women to join with free memberships, and then the men will come pay.

That business model will FAIL now. You will see all the commercials now are geared around getting women to join (and pay). The beta mangina sitting there placidly holding the hand of the fat cow with silver and green hair, while she talks about being a single mother and finding the right beta wallet for her and her thug half breeds. Or the mangina on the street showing the women the men who are on the site and telling them they need to join. The old fart telling the women they don’t have to be alone etc.

I don’t know how this would be researched, but there’s probably a much more telling statistic about gender in online dating. I strongly suspect that most male accounts on online dating are short term, lasting a few months at most before the men give up and bail. However I suspect most female accounts remain active for years and years and years with no success. Of course even if they do somehow find a man online they probably keep their accounts active “just in case”.

Do online dating sites keep track of how long an account has been active?
