Hey fellas,
This has been bugging me for awhile now, and it’s really hard to sink this in but…I’ve been hearing more from you and seeing articles on this site about Cohabitation and the laws pertaining to that.
Some poster shares a few articles that in actually well most of the Canadian provinces, after some time, a couple living together will be considered same as married couple. And this is considered constitutional? Ok but what if they are not in intimate relationships and are only renting together? Could the government say that you are still husband and wife?
Anyway so let’s say that a woman lives in your place for that amount of time, but you are not married. Then what happens? And what can she do to YOU once that time of being considered a couple, approaches? Will you have to give up your house if she decided to dump you? Also would you have to pay alimony if she had any kids?
Has this happened to anyone on the board? I am really curious to find out. I want to know the most ROYAL screw you in the ass kind of cases so that I can push it onto my blue pill-purple pill friends. I also want to strengthen and prepare myself if a woman does come on to me with that s~~~.
I have direct experience with some of the above……
In terms of a female roommate (non married, no sex, no relations~~~) you need to have her co-sign a rental agreement and clearly state bill (rent, hydro, internet, etc) separation (what she pays) in that document as well as eviction and or lease abandonment clauses plus move out costs. Also in this document make sure to get a driver’s license number and or SIN (Canada) number on there. If she does not want to sign kick her to the curb as something is fishy. You will HAVE to get this notarized by a PROFESSIONAL, it will cost you a little but be worth it. The next part is you have to make sure she signs the rental lease as a TENANT in front of the landlord along with you signature. These are very critical pieces of documents that you need to guard with your life as they will save your ass. Lastly KEEP ALL YOUR BILL RECEIPTS of everything you pay for or co-pay for and I mean everything, food, hydro, internet… whatever it is you pay for keep an official record of the receipt (hard copy and scanned copy). A paper trail in your favour will give you a favourable result. These steps sound hard but let me tell you it has saved my ass to have all my ducks in a row and a little chuckle to watch the female cry cause she got screwed trying to screw me.
Now with a wife or girlfriend this is a very sticky process, you should still do the above before you are living with them but also you should look into getting a prenup. You do not have to be married or getting married to have a prenup, you can put anything into a prenup and it is designed to protect you in case of something happens. For example if there is a split you can agree that you get the house or you both leave it and find other places to live etc. The one glitch to a prenup is that she has to agree with it as well, also kids will throw a monkey wrench in it sometimes. I do not have any kids but I know people that got their nups thrown out because it did not favour the kids.
Any chance you could elaborate on this one? As in how did she come about trying to screw you over? Was it just trying to extract more money from you and such?
This was a friend situation, she was a messy pig and I told her to take a hike when the lease was up which was in a few months. She ghosted (stiffing me with the rest of the lease)… I later got a summons for spousal/common law support from some lawyer she went to because we were living in the same place for almost a year. Boom! showed my docs and evidence.. case closed, sued her for legal fees and fraud and got everything paid for by her. F~~~ing red heads… it’s true what they say about em. I do not have any experience regarding married folk or actual common law but I would sense it would fit the same. Get your paperwork in order asap right up front, if the women does not want to play ball dump her. I also like to make sure the women understands everything and get it on video fully and has copies of everything so I can’t be said to have “Coerced her” or whatever.
Wow man! WHAT A FAKEN BITCH THAT BITCH IS!!!
Well I think your response on here is the most important yet, because guys should learn from your experience.
If anyone else has had a similar situation, we will be willing to hear about it. But in this case it would be like the worse case scenario if you didn’t have your docs saved.
Just out of curiosity, how much money was she aiming to extract from you? Including lawyers?

Yeah she was f~~~ed, there was a lot of f~~~ed women where I used to live, glad I left that hell hole. In terms of the money she tried for it all…

you need to look up cohabitation and common law marriage laws in your state/country.
Even if you rent out a room to a female, you still need to beware even if the relationship is platonic. It’s possible she might make something up stating you’re actually in a relationship during the time she stayed with you.

Common Law/Cohabitation Separation in Canada
Common law relationships occur when two individuals live together in a “marriage-like”, or conjugal, relationship. Common law separation varies from that of divorce in that the laws governing married couples do not apply to cohabitating couples. It is advised to enter a cohabitation agreement when in a common law relationship, as this allows parties to agree on division of property, support, and other matters which may be disputed if the parties end the relationship, as well as it allows the couple to determine their rights within separation before they cohabitate.
Common law relationships end when the couple ceases to live together; however some rights and responsibilities may persist. When dealing with property during a cohabitation separation, each party is able to keep what belongs to them, as well as each party is responsible for their own debts. If there is an asset in both names, then the value of that asset is divided equally between each party, and the couple decides how to divide it. If the event results in an unfair division of the asset, then the partner should make a claim filing for unjust enrichment, in which if proven, the party who was unjustly enriched is required to make reasonable restitution of the asset. Further, when handling child custody, access, and support, the same laws apply for common law couples as with married couples, in that common law individuals must also pay child support upon separation if required, and they are able to receive some form of child custody.
Further issues that are dealt with upon a common law or cohabitation separation include but are not limited to paying spousal support if the couple has cohabitated for three years or are in a relationship of some permanence and have children, and a time limit in certain provinces to apply for spousal support. Assets that a partner may acquire or not upon a cohabitation separation include receiving dependent’s relief on death of partner, not receiving equalization payment of death, and not receiving possession of the matrimonial home.

Someone has to pay for the welfare of women …. and that my friend is you.
I’m fully expecting to get vaginamony letter from a female copilot if the flight is more that 6 hours.
This you cannot just pay for women’s lifestyles based on nothing especially their special housing and welfare with just nothing so either they will get you to pay vaginamony over the smallest thing (you had a chick spend a few nights or a month at your place) or they will hike your already high taxes on your already almost worthless dollar.
Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.
Boom! showed my docs and evidence.. case closed, sued her for legal fees and fraud and got everything paid for by her.
I think you got lucky before a red pill judge.
I still say it’s not worth the risk.

That’s a f~~~load of work just for the dubious pleasure of having a woman live with you.
So I also say it’s not worth the effort.
Seriously, I have to wonder why there’s this perceived need to find a way to live with a woman without getting burned.
Here’s the law in the U.S.
That is not the law is the US.
The laws in the US depend entirely on the state in question. There is no one size fits all.
~BS was entirely correct when he advised everyone to check the laws of their state and/or province.
Wikipedia has a good general overview of the various laws in the US and Canada. Read that overview and follow the links to learn about the laws specific to your location. The situation is especially complex in Canada as there are certain laws at the federal level which deal with child support awards for cohabitating but non-biological fathers.
Take the time to learn about the laws which may effect you. Don’t rely on hearsay or any other bulls~~~ no matter how well meant it is.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
The laws in the US depend entirely on the state in question.
And these days the actual outcome depends a lot more on the personal politics of the judge than the law itself.

F~~~ING S~~~! So basically at the federal level, no matter what province or the laws they abide to the judge can basically have you pay child support or what I hear is vagimony. Un F~~~ing Believable!
Can’t even imagine having to pay child support if the bitch didn’t even marry me, nor if the bitch ever had sex with me. She could just stay at your place pretending to me a unicorn from a rainbow, and then the mask comes of to reveal the HEIR OF GOAT!!!

Cohabitation is like playing with a loaded gun.
Why take a chance?
Even if you keep perfect records, you might have to hire legal help to keep her out of your wallet. Not to mention the incredible hassle and wasted time.
Furthermore, even if you are successful, what’s to stop her from filing false abuse/rape charges just to get back at you?
In my opinion, nothing can ruin your “man cave” faster than cohabitation. If I ever lost my mind and had a lady stay over more than a night, I would have her sign paperwork to the effect that we were not cohabitating and all of our assets were separate.
Anonymous43stay the f~~~ away from women
pretty simple.
Women will f~~~ up yer head, yer s~~~, yer friends and if yer lucky, only take half.
then there is the oops I forgot my pill thing.
uh oh the disease thing I forgot about the disease thing
itchy itchy scratchy scratchy sores, pus and pain.ya totally worth 30 seconds of whatever the f~~~ just happened.
drama, yammering screaming frustration weakness, why get near that mess, that hot mess so f~~~n hot im gonna mess my shorts hot mess.’
id rather shove a white hot piece of rebar up my doinkus than be with a woman ever again.

From the Wiki page:
Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) states, as of 2007, a common law relationship is true if at least one of the following applies:[14]
1.the couple has been living in a conjugal relationship for at least 12 continuous months;
2.the couple are parents of a child by birth or adoption; or
3.one of the couple has custody and control of the other partner’s child (or had custody and control immediately before the child turned 19 years of age) and the child is wholly dependent on that person for support.
There’s much more, including a link to a page from the CRA (The Canadian version of the US’ IRS) explaining all the issues involved.
You could very be in a situation in which your province’s laws determined no common law marriage exists and still by liable for child support at the federal level.
Take the time to learn about your specific situation. Be advised that these laws are changing rapidly and not for the better. Recently British Columbia lowered the qualifying criteria for what they call an unmarried spouse so much that “legalized” polygamy was a result. Someone could be married with one person, cohabitating with another, and be legally bound to both.
Once again, research the laws in you locale and pay attention to the constant changes.
Men are escaping the plantation in ever increasing numbers. Common law marriage statutes and similar legislation are among the many ways women and their allies in government can recapture and enslave men.
Don’t get caught. Educate yourself.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

Yeah it so true is a hassle, I learnt my lesson a while back and quite prefer to have my own place, I do not even like male roommates to be honest. For the false rape allegations, I am not sure what it is like in the USA but Canada has a bit more of a sensible court and police system. No one can just go around and say this person raped me and go to trial without some first hand evidence … but I could be wrong, I have yet to be in that situation.

The nasty man threw it all away your honor.
Still laughing.
You have to love this vernacular!
Splendid!
How about T-shirts of,
“Another nasty man of mgtow, and I’m the nastiest of them all!”"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."
“Another nasty man of mgtow, and I’m the nastiest of them all!”
My State: California does NOT recognize Common Law Marriage. However it DOES recognize PALIMONY via Court Rulings.
Both Australia and Canada will ding a guy for “Alimony” for a live in “girlfriend” who moves out. I believe Australia also considers all property to be community property…so she not only gets “Alimony” but half of everything you own as well.
As one poster mentioned…it really boils down to EXTRACTION of Wealth and Resources…either DIRECTLY via the Courts or INDIRECTLY via Taxes and money spent (subsidization) on women by the Government. And this is why women typically vote for large governments and higher taxes…and are always pushing for expansion of Social Services. (The Government has become the provider)
A Study from New Zealand determined that statistically most women burn up more tax dollars than they pay in taxes throughout their entire lifetimes; whereas Men PAY MORE in Taxes than they receive during their lifetimes.
MEN —$$$$—->WOMEN
Cohabitation isn’t that Marriage 3.0? That would be with out having to buy a wedding ring or pay for a wedding. But in the end you get f~~~ed anyway when she moves out, as the courts would see it as marriage 2.0 anyway.
Us men didn't start the battle of the sexes, but we're clearly going to win it via the simple tactic of just leaving the battlefield in contempt."
Thanks to SolidusX, for sharing on real life experiences. And to Old Bill, for highlighting the importance of reading up on the law specific to your region, on both Provincial/State and Federal Levels.
That the laws are being changed constantly and quickly, is very bad news. But with some diligence, and preventative measures, men can stay ahead of the curve.
Very important and pertinent info.
Have to keep dodging the bullet. Pump and dump. Dating. “Escorts”. Anything to keep from co-habitatoon.
Who’s ready to go back to the plantation? She’s 20 years old. She loves you. And it will be for ever and ever. Just like in the movies.
“He who takes an eel by the tail, or a woman at her word, soon finds he holds nothing.”
Do not cohabitate and you won’t have to worry.
